Of all the breweries I have been to this is my least likely to recommend to anyone. All hype in my opinion. Had to wait an hour outside before getting a table. The food menu lacked anything I wanted to spend money on (the fries were the cheapest thing at $8). The only flight you could get was of the four main beers you can actually buy in a 6 pack. There was loud metal music and a subtitled kung fu movie on all the TVs. I had one (very disappointing) beer and left. (469 characters)

Waited over 2 hours, which can be expected at FF. Came for a tour but was told, sorry no tour didnt you check facebook. No I didn't, I checked their website which only said no tours the following 2 weeks. Server was very cold and was obvious we didn't matter to them. There were 100 more people waiting to take our table. (324 characters)

Great place to eat some interesting food and try almost all FFF beer on tap. The place is rather small so be prepared to WAIT. We had a boring 2 hour wait for a table. There is nothing we know of to do around the area and had a strict 5 minute limit to get to our table once called that it was ready. We weren't going to wait 2 hours and miss the 5 minute window so we stuck around there. Very busy place but the quality and selection of the beer was amazing! If you're a FFF lover, give it a shot. (501 characters)

I have been here three times now and have not a single bad moment. I usually arrive between 1 and 2pm and the longest wait I have had was maybe 20 minutes. They play metal music of course but at a volume where you can still carry conversation and here yourself think.

I havent seen any of the rudeness from staff that others have mentioned. None at all. I wouldnt say that the staff fakes niceness too like many others in the service industry, but rudeness.. none. Everyone has been nice and helpful when ordering and bringing beers/food to the table. My first two visits, I sat at a table and near the end of each beer, my waiter was there to take my order for another brew. If you have questions, they have answers. I sat at the bar during my third visit and the bartender was great. Any time I said thank you, he gave me an earnest your welcome and looked me in the eye and was respectful.

The food is absolutely amazing. If you come here thinking it will be generic bar food, you will be blown away. These guys have mastered pork. If there is a pork dish, you can feel safe ordering it. I have had the brisket tacos and the pork shoulder sandwich and both were top notch. The food comes out hot and actually comes out to the table pretty quickly. My friends and I sampled many of the appetizers during one visit and each one was fantastic. The Scotch Egg is one of the best dishes I have ever had. I have yet to try one of the more expensive entrees but that is because I am usually there early in the afternoon. The sandwiches and what they call "small plates" are plenty while you have a few beers.

The tap list is always extensive. Pub only beers are available in nice quantity. During my trips I have had the Cherron cherry Gose, Black Flame imperial stout, Precious porter, Alien Porter, Skull'Ole sour, Wigsplitter and Battle Priest which ultimately hit distribution, but were nice finds on tap. Each beer is served in its appropriate glass and you can get a feel for what to expect as far as what you will spend as most beers, with the exception of very few, are all $5 regardless of size or choice. Come on.. a $5 imperial pint of Zombie Dust? Deal.

The take home beer kiosk is a magical area. It doesnt always have exclusive brews, but when they do.. amazing. I was able to get a 2014 Dark Lord two days after 2015 DLD, Wigsplitter before it hit stores, Black Flame imperial stout, Battle Priest, and Drunk Monk (my biggest regret from any of my trips was not buying an entire case of Drunk Monk.

Also, this is the most underrated aspect of what these guys do. Their WEBSITE IS THE BEST ASSET. The website updates the kiosk menu in almost real time. You know exactly what is there and when. If you wake up and see something you absolutely want, hurry and get there because these guys will have it taken off their board at the pub and off the website as it happens. Very very useful tool for seeking out their beers. For as much hate as Floyds gets, this is a wonderful thing they do for the customer. Today when they put Conquistador de la Muerte in the kiosk, it was broadcast on their website and social media and a friend was able to go get me one. I absolutely love that they do this and I hope whoever runs their website never stops his/her great work.

Im not sure what people expect when they come here. I have found the complaints in other reviews unfounded, but of course, I cant speak for others. Bottom line: Dont expect to be pampered. There is no waiting area which I have seen mentioned as negative for some. There is limited parking, but you can park your car anywhere in the entire industrial park. Is walking 3 minutes really a big deal? The beer is top notch, the food is amazing, the service is just fine. The overall experience has been more than satisfactory each time I have visited and I am going back in two days. I live four hours away and hope to make this a monthly or bi-monthly travel. (3,938 characters)

Great beer, great food and great atmosphere. We love going here, they always have a great selection and the menu is delicious. Only critique is the service solid but not great. Overall love it and can't wait to be back (218 characters)

The food at 3 floyds is on point and have real chefs there. Lots of beer to choose from and you can even purchase bombers and 6 packs to take home! Get there early or you might have to wait in line for awhile! (209 characters)

Okay, so here's the rundown on 3Floyds.

You will wait in line, so be smart and be prepared. Don't show up at 4:30 on a holiday-weekend Saturday and expect to get a seat in 15 minutes (made this mistake, will not make it again). I've found that the best time to go (I've been here 9 times now and can't wait for #10) is on a weekday around lunch. Personally, I worked this visit into a vacation and had a great experience - waited in line for less than 10 minutes on a Thursday around 1:00 and got a great seat.

The most underrated part of the experience is the food - it's far above regular pub food, and I'd probably go for that reason even if I couldn't have beer. Be adventurous and try something new off the menu. The in-house chefs are very skilled and they don't make a bad offering.

As far as the beer is concerned, it depends on your mindset going into the brewpub. If you're someone that thinks 3Floyds is overrated, you're not going to have the best time. After all, this is a small brewpub and there's nothing there to really blow you away. In my opinion, the appeal is in the atmosphere - these are folks that just flat-out love beer and have created their own shrine to it. If you enter with an open mind, I've found that the selection of beers on tap is EXTRAORDINARY. It's like they customize the beer menu so that everyone can have a taste of every different style. Usually there's about 10-12 offerings from 3Floyds along with 2-3 guest drafts from other breweries (if you don't find something to your liking). Still not satisfied? 3Floyds has you covered, with an immense selection of bottles that even the pickiest of beer drinkers would find accommodating - my favorite is that they always have PBR available!! Reinforces for me that their brewpub is a place for everyone, and you'll never be looked down on if you don't know a ton about beer.

Can't say enough good things about this place. I live in Cincinnati and the drive to northern Indiana for this place is ALWAYS worth it. This is where I take my very best friends and family for unforgettable experiences. This is where my best friend asked me to be the best man in his wedding. The place has earned a special place in my mind, and I'm confident that it's the #1 all-around brewpub experience in the United States, bar none. (2,307 characters)

Food is great. Selection is great, including many things that are draft only. Zombie Dust is always available. More seating than you would expect makes for reasonable wait times. Overall never disappointing and worn the trek from wherever. (239 characters)

Never had a bad experience- mainly because I go around lunchtime. Service has always been courteous and timely. Great list of house beers and guest taps and bottles. The food is great, pairs well with the beers. Decor is cool- toys, tap handles, comic book art, metal on the radio, a cult movie of some sort usually playing with no volume. Dark Lord Day is usually a blast. Try arriving at the brewpub when they open to avoid a lengthy wait at both the pub and the to-go kiosk. Long lines whenever Zombie Dust is available (529 characters)

I had a good experience picking up my beer. I have heard about their customer service being terrible, but the person who helped me was friendly. She does get bonus points for being attractive so the service wasn't quite as good as I'm giving it. The beer is great and this is a must stop if in the Chicago area. (311 characters)

3 Floyds is top notch. Amazing beer, great food and one of my favorite places to take a small road trip to. Can't get enough of their beer and their food leaves nothing to be desired. It is all delicious and most of the offerings are not your typical "brewery" fare. Check out their pizzas and their house made beef jerky. Both are unique and great. Oh and Dark Lord Day was fantastic. (385 characters)

Vibe is a combo of funkiness and trash metal so You better love Metal if u r gonna hang at 3F for any length of time. While not a metal fan I'll put up with it for the opportunity to enjoy the selection of 12 3F beers on tap. Also 3'solid guest taps available. (262 characters)

Three Floyd's is honestly the best brewery I have been to. Most brewers have a flagship beer that is indicative of their best style of beer. It is kind of natural to be better at one or two styles of beer over others...the difference is that 3 Floyd's not only does every style well, they are also extremely innovative. There is no question that every brewery sometimes misses, but the ratio of hits to misses is amazing! (421 characters)

One of my favorite places in the world. The waits and lines are tough to stomach and the service could be better, but they have the best beer and food of any bar or brewpub I've ever been to. It's worth the wait and lives up to the hype. I stop in every time I'm on my way to or from Chicago. (292 characters)

Yup. All 5's. It really is that awesome. The food was insane. The beer lived up to its hype, and then some. The server we had was chill. I even saw a sticker from a really small brewery by my house behind the bar at three floyds (Bad Brewing Co. in Mason, MI). (260 characters)

Been coming here for years and still try and make it out once a month or so. Food is excellent (although the menu is a bit limited) and they always have several standards (Alpha King, Zombie Dust, Gumballhead) as well as several rotating taps and a few guest taps. The down side is that there is almost always a wait, especially on the weekends. I have waited anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours. (399 characters)

I stopped over here on my way to Indianapolis, back in mid October, mainly to pick up about two cases (that was their buy-limit, by law if I recall correctly) for some friends back home, but I stopped in to say hello and try a few things. I waited for 30 minutes or so to be seated, busy place and not even lunchtime, but it was worth it. I had Robert the Bruce scotch ale and Drunk Monk hefeweizen, both great beers. Let's just say I had to sleep it off before continuing my trek. I also had some sort of bizarre steak sandwich. It was a single piece of bread, followed by chunks of succulent medium rare beef, topped with the hardest hash browns I've ever had. I enjoyed it, but I wish the food menu had had a wider selection. I sat at the bar, just so happened it was next to a gentleman who was passing through on his way to a brewing school somewhere. Very memorable experience for me considering how few brewpubs I've been to.

Oh yeah! And how could I forget the loud music?! Not that I minded! \m/ (1,005 characters)

3 Floyds is geared toward a specific crowd. Between the underground metal scene blasting on the radio, the 80's/90's B movies playing on the TV's and the tattooed staff they are clearing marketing towards a specific demographic that I am fortunate to be. I love the feel of the place and frequent the brewpub quite often. Although the staff gets a bum rap for past rude employees and entitled yuppies they are quite nice and very knowledgable of their menu. The food is out of this world and is just the icing on the cake of this gem of an establishment. (554 characters)

I come here often but the first time I did one of the owners was an absolute ass to my wife. Because of this I suppose I am a tad biased on the "vibe," but this does play a part in it so I will rate it as I feel it is. To be quite honest though, with the level of quality consistent with the beer and the food, there is very little one could do that could keep me away. I used to live less than a mile away before moving to Korea and it is still the place I miss most about my hometown. I definitely recommend to anyone in the area and I even urge my Korean friends to make the trek down when they are visiting Chicago. A+ (622 characters)

We stopped by August of 2014 and there was a 1-2 hour wait on a Saturday, nowhere to wait but a parking lot so we left. I gave it 5/5 because I like the beer. If you can go on a weekday, do that. (196 characters)

I have never had a problem with the service. Sure I have had some long waits to be seated, but that is not a reflection of poor service. (203 characters)
