I tried this beer in SInt Maarten, it was good, but it was late when I drink it also!

This beer is astounding. Highly recommend. Can be found in eastern France and Luxembourg.

Format: a tall and very solid brown 750mL bottle with a stylish old-school label.

Appearance: poured into a tulip glass. A bright golden colour with fine carbonation across the profile. A decent finger-and-a-half of white head that lasts the distance, before sliding down the glass to a solid ring with reasonable lacing.

Aroma: definite grain and yeast with some light orchard fruits and some earth. Reasonable.

Taste: follows the nose quite closely with some additional earth and herbal characters. Quite easy-drinking.

Aftertaste: the earth lingers for a time with some bittering hops.

Mouth feel: light in body with a decent, moderate carbonation that is spritely enough to grab the flavours and bring them through. Refreshing.

Overall: this is my first Biére de Garde, and I have to say I am quite a fan. Plenty of different flavours combined to make a quite interesting style - refreshing like a German Pilsner and yet with Belgian farmyard qualities also. I'll definitely have another of these at AU12 for a 750mL bottle.

Bottle
A: light, light yellow. Clear. Bubbly. Thick, airy, white head.
S: malty. Sweet. Sour dough bread. Slight skunk.
T: bread. Banana. Slight ester.
M: high carbonation. Light body. Dry. Crisp.
O: good bier de Garde. Hard to classify though. Almost a saison. Strange, skunky, crisp flavor. Funk for aftertaste.
