Notes/Commercial Description:
The name "Grey Lady" comes from the nickname for the often-foggy island on which it is brewed. This hazy, Belgian-style Wit emits a complex nose with sophisticated notes.

Got it on tap at the brewery on Nantucket, where it was served in a plastic cup.

A: Hazy yellowish body with a small white head.

S: Faint nose - yeasty spice with a touch of lemony bitterness.

T: Like a very light wheat ale: light wheat up front with some citrus at the back end. Finishes clean, as there's really not a lot of flavor here.

M: Light in heft, carbonation is modest.

O: Only OK.

In a pint glass this beer was a hazy pale gold color with a small white head. A pleasant citrus aroma, some fresh hay. Lemon taste, a bit of malt, then the beer just flattened out. Really blah mouthfeel, very bland. Not a very good wit. I won't be tryin this again.

Mini growler pour from the good ole boys at DeCicco's in Ardsley, NY.

A- This one pours a clouded yellowy/pineapple juice shade of tastyness. White head stuck around for quite a bit and then went to a moderate collar, low sheeting and respectable bits of lacing.

S- Lemon and more lemon in the nose

T- I love a nice citrus infused and crisp Wit and this one does nit disappoint. Loads of more citrus, mostly lemon, and some gooey pineapple notes as well. Yeasty, citric, wheaty. Refreshing and quite enjoyable stuff.

M- Yeah it feels good in my mouth

D- Nice wit, clean, crisp and well worth a try

Pours a fluffy two finger white head. This dissipates to a thin ring of lacing only, kind of disappointing. Smells of a big belgian, La fin du monde esque. Clove, banana, more ripe fruit, pears. Tastes pepery, light crystal sweetness, some banana, clove, cinnamon maybe. Thin thin bodied, medium carbing. A touch of lingering hop bitterness. Overall this is descent, very easy drinking and refreshing. Nice smell and good taste but the body hurts this quite a bit. I will pick this up again on a hot hot summer day and drink ice cold. $1.89 a single.

A northeast witbier eh? Hazy clouded bright yellow sunshine golden with a bright white head flowing thick. Leaves behind fine even lacing down the sides of my pint glass. First smell I can tell there's citrus peel and coriander but the yeast notes override the spice with nutty/bready notes from their house yeast. Let me try my first swig from these guys. Like a spiced citrus coriander smoothie, what's going on is there cream and chammomile in this. It tastes like I added heavy cream to herbal tea. Wow the flavor is wilded one of the heaviest citrus/spice/creamy texture wits I've ever come across it lands in the WTF segment of my palate. When you burp have people stand back it hits with citrus fury and coriander cantor from your nares and stomach. What's up with beer labels and ugly mermaids, I've seen a couple this year, think Coronado and maybe one other. Overall it's like a coriander/cream based/citrus peel smoothies as you get thru each sip each one becomes more enjoyable but as a whole from the years of drinking different witbiers this is still a WTF experience?

On-tap at Bukowski’s in Boston.

Pours a hazy yellow-gold color with a white head that leaves decent lacing.

Smells of light malts with good amounts of wheat twang and lemon peel. Also present are faint amounts of musty hops.

Tastes similar to how it smells. Crisp light malts up front are joined quickly by good amounts of lemon peel. Midway through the sip slight wheat twang and hints of breadiness come into play before earthy and slightly musty hops carry through to a mildly bitter ending. Mouthfeel is good, with solid carbonation.

Overall this was a solid beer and one that’s easy to drink in the warmer months. Worth a shot.

Grey Lady is a clouded pale gold color or, more accurately, sort of dusty near-medium yellow. The off-white head is sparse, peaking at just under half a finger of big-bubbled froth and leaving spotty lacing while leaving a layer atop the beer for the duration.
The spiciness is prominent in the smell, sort of an allspice and cardamom before a light hint of sweetness coming from the yeast kicks in to add a touch of banana and something like pear. The earthiness expected is there, and some lemon under dry wheat.
The flavor is likewise spiced, though a distinctive note of something like bergamot makes itself known, and I wonder if that's intentional. Otherwise it's very floral and perfumy, while the wheat sets the foundation and a lemony twang comes out front. more Belgian character would do this beer some good, but it's far from bad.
It's got a little more spritz than crispness, but it does have a nice running dryness with a spicy bite on the tongue, and it's fairly smooth as well.

A: Pours a clear pale yellow with a small head that dissipates quickly to small bits of foam on the top.

S: I get the smallest hint of citrus and wheat, but mostly its smells quite bad. It sort of smells like a dirty sock. It does not make me want to take a sip whatsoever.

T: Better than I though based on the smell. A bit of the citrus comes through, but overall there just isn't much. I am just glad the sock smell is not prevalent on the flavor profile.

M/D: Light to medium bodied with decent carbonation. Just not good. Not going to finish this one, and don't normally pour beers out. I doubt it is too old since I got it in MA, but its possible.

22 oz. bomber > stella glass

Wicked fizzy and noisy from the carbonation. slightly hazy, yellow-gold with a jazzy, bubbly head...totally white and thin.

the aroma is of tart banana's and lemmon zest in the yeast. slightly soapy that does not pop out in the aroma. Dry wheat and citrus.

this is a very crispy wheat and citrus zest upfront, more citrus than wheat or herbs. Very clean and bold, not complex, the yeast is only slightly complex with just not enough wheatie effects or dry finish for my taste. the very light jazzy feel never really mellows.

The yeast could be more flavorful but it's a good one for summer!
