Poured from a bottle conditioned, 750 ml bottle into a goblet glass. 2014 vintage

Pours a golden amber color with an eggshell white head that dissipates rather quickly. Very little visible lacing around the glass as I sip. The color alms or reminds me of apple juice to be honest. It's quite exquisite!

Smells of sour pears, apples, and peaches. Lacto is very prevalent on the nose with no malt or hop profile detected.

Tastes very tart as it costs the tongue. Lacto is present. Although very sour, the beer finishes a bit sweet, particularly when licking your lips minutes after swallowing. Some oaky finish is present as well upon swallowing.

Mouthfeel is awesome. Puckering initially l, but then mellows out upon swallowing, bringing out the oaky flavor from the barrel aging. Although this beer is well carbonated, it doesn't have an overly harshness on the tongue. The pleasant prickliness is welcoming with each sip.

One of the best sour beers I may have ever had. Very well balanced with a mouthfeel that leaves you yearning for another sip. I think this beer would benefit from aging, it's pretty fantastic as it is upon release. I would definitely seek this one out of you are a sour beer fan. You will not be disappointed!

Cheers!

look: 4.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4

750 ml bottle. 2013 printed on the label. Served in a Cantillon Iris glass

Appearance: Pours a bright gold color with less than a finger of white soapy head that dissipates to a thin collar and some wispy foam coating. Body is clear with moderate amounts of visible carbonation.

Smell: Surprising amount of funk, hay, pineapple, green apple, some grassy/herbal quality and a bit of oak.

Taste: Lemon, barnyard funkiness, green apple, lacto, oak. There's a very noticeable herbal quality, which is somewhat weird, but ends up working well.

Mouthfeel: Light medium bodied with a slightly creamy mouthfeel. Carbonation is medium. Finishes dry.

Overall: Pretty good american wild ale. While I wouldn't mistake it for one, it has some gueuze-like qualities. Worth picking up if you see it.
