Opened on 9/28-29/2012

Pours a pretty still hazy light brown color. Not much head at all (only a few bubbles) and no lacing. Similar to many wilds.

Smell is very funky. Sour cherries and typical funk are really all I'm getting here. Enjoying smell.

Taste is very good! Sour funkiness with cherries coming into play. Call me crazy but I taste hints of cinnamon. Not quite as sour as I'd like but I'm really into mouth puckering beers.

Could be more carbonated but not bad. Not a dry finish which I liked and the sourness does kind of tickle the tongue.

Overall I definitely enjoyed this brew! For an off the shelf american wild it was great and is definitely going to be my new "go to" when I'm in need of a sour fix.

Well done Cisco!

750 mL cork and caged Belgian-style bottle purchased at Cleveland Ave. Wine & Liquors in NW DC; 2013 vintage; drank over an hour

A: 2/3 - initial pour revealed reddish-amber coloration; low clarity (cannot see through); particulate matter (likely cherry bits) floating throughout; off-white/eggshell carbonation settles into a glass lacing; mild alcohol legs

S: 10/12 - mostly pungent tart character - horse blanket, hay/grassy and slight plastic; the fruit and malt notes are further back - cherries, dates and figs; don't get much oak of alcohol

T: 16/20 - matches the nose well, but, for me, there is much more cherry and stone fruits; the malt character develops with tart cherries and lots of funk that envelopes the palate; some alcohols; no hops; no detectable flaws for me

M: 4/5 - high carbonation - really pops the flavors; moderate body for an American wild ale

O: 9/10 - complex kriek from a brewery that hasn't been on my radar until now - definitely the best Cisco beer that I've ever had; my complaint are the general lack of wood character and the high price point for a 6-7% ABVer; however, this is worth hunting out in your hood or trading if they don 't - definitely will age well too!

TOTAL - 41/50

Served from a 750ml C&C bottle into a Hill Farmsstead stemmed tulip. Quick review. Vintage unknown. Not the most recent though. Opened with no pop.

Appearance- Burgundy wine. Great color, no head or bubbles

Smell- Cherry, oak, tabbacco, lemon. Earthy, oaky, fruity.

Taste- So much cherry and oak. Flanders red-esque. Tons of cherry, tabbacco, and oak. Really really nice.

Mouthfeel- Flat as can be. Medium body. Flat. Medium tartness.

Overall- This would be so incredible if it had any bit of carbonation. Oh well, it's still juicy and tasty.
