I get everything mentioned in Cisco's description - cherries, check. Wine barrel, check. Sour aging, check. All very well balanced. Excellent.

750ml of the 2013 vintage, thanks Joe! Poured into a Hill Farmstead stemmed glass 8/23/2014.

A- Medium amber-brown body. One finger white head that recedes into a thick collar with fair retention time, splotches of lacing. [3.50]

S- Sour cherries, slight sweet brown malt, lots of lactic acid and a bit of vinegar. Not particularly yogurty, but does have a bit of musty funk as well. [4.25]

F- Lots of lactic acid, vinegar and cherry tartness. Hints of oak and a small bit of toffee rounds it out. Tons of cherry skin on the finish. Nothing particularly funky or superbly complex, but there is a lot more fruit flavour in this beer than I had expected. And there is enough complexity to make it interesting. Very good stuff. [4.25]

M- Medium bodied, just about the right amount of body for this beer. Well carbonated, a bit fizzly on the tongue, straddles the distance between dry and cloying. Very good stuff; as noted above there is a lot of cherry skin on the finish. [4.25]

O- Very good American wild with a lot of cherries. This isn't as complex as say, Supplication, but this is a very good American take on a Kriek. [4.25]

Beer Temple - Chicago
The beer pours a cloudy rust colored maroon that's thick with sediment and topped by a negligible, loose head. The nose is tart cherries followed by yeast, some grain, and minimal acetone. The taste is bright pie cherries upfront that transitions into a big malty and fruity yeast finish. It has a fantastic mouthfeel - juicy cherries, light carbonation a hint of chewy, medium-bodied yeast and malt sweetness that finishes semi-dry and is very drinkable. This beer is worth a try and I'm really interested in the other fruit variants out!
