Pours a lovely deep reddish brown. Very thin head that disappears to a thin edge quickly. Smells of roasted malts, some smoke and cinnamon. Mostly caramel and toffee on the second whiff. There's some dried fruit and apple strudel aromas peeking through as well. Also some vanilla, but just a minor inkling. Very nice!
Taste is hefty sweet malt and spices. Cinnamon and clove dominate the start. A piney hop bitterness begins and never seems to end and then there is a smooth balancing act performed by cara malt. A bit of biscuity toffee and more of that resiny hop at the end. Mouthfeel is solid and medium bodied.
As this beer warms, a bit of booze becomes present. I can't find the abv anywhere and nothing about this beer is online!
Overall I really enjoy this beer. It's mildly spiced, flavorful and balanced. Definitely a nice winter beer to sip after a long day of shredding powder on the mountain. I'll certainly buy another 6 as the weather gets colder.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a standard pint glass.
Cloudy brown in color, with a nice, two-inch cap of light tan foam.
Taste-Toasted malt, orange, nutmeg, cinnamon, followed by a nice little hop bite. Well-balanced, tasty and refreshing despite the rather high ABV. Very nice.

Slightly surprised with the amount of hops for a winter beer and being as dark and roasty as it is on the nose. Its a nice beer all around, not a ton of complexity although the mix of caramel in the malt and the bitterness in the hops does make for a nice combination it was just a little short on the complexity side.
