A: Very dark brown, black appearance. Red tint at the edges of my snifter. Short khaki head with weak retention. Fades into slightly bubbly lacing.
S: Roasted, almost burnt coffee, dark bittersweet chocolate, molasses, caramel. Hints of cream and oak/wood.
T/M: Bitter coffee upfront; almost tastes like old/burnt coffee. Smooth hops, bittersweet chocolate, molasses compose most of the body. Light hints of dark wine-like fruits permeate through the heavy bitterness of the overall flavor. Aftertaste is tangy and almost sour. Medium carbonation with a medium body as well.
D: A decent stout, with an overpowering hop bite that doesn't really fit in my opinion.

It pours pitch black and leaves the same color body. With a nice foamy one inch mocha colored head, it gently dies to concave lumpiness. Spotty spiderweb lacing is left. The smell is smoky and roasty with the coffee up front, some really light vanilla enters in as the beer warms. The taste is light and gives quite a bit of hops and burnt bread, some coffee, pine and hops enter gently in. The palate is light and bitter, close to watery. There is a good dry finish and a bitter and dry aftertaste. It is fairly drinkable. Overall, not bad, but not memorable, might get it again depending upon what else was offered.
