12 oz can was poured into a pilsner glass.
Appearance: This beer poured a two finger head that reduced to a thin layer. It is a golden straw yellow with great clarity and vision of bubbles coming up through the glass. Frothy lacing down the glass as the beer was drank.
Smell: Toasted, bready, and sweet grains and malts followed by lager yeast and herbal and grassy hops.
Taste: Same as above with a bit more malty sweetness yj as needed I would like. A little bitterness in the rear.
Mouthfeel: Crisp, refreshing, light bodied, a little chewy, and
Overall: Nice helles lager. Would have like more toasted than sweet notes.

Drank from a 3/4 pint/12 fl. oz. bottle
Served in a pint glass
The liquid poured a crystal-clear, pale golden-amber. A frothy, one-finger tall, bright white crown topped the liquid but it quickly faded to a thin film. Droplets of lacing cascaded down the glass.
Bready, biscuity malts dominated the aroma. Somewhat musky and distinctly German. I definitely picked up some lager yeast notes as well. Clean, grassy hops were detectible as the beer warmed. The hops became more prominent with time and the malts faded into the background.
The flavor profile was initially quite similar to the nose. Crisp and bright. There was a strong biscuity malt presence. Fairly hoppy. As in the nose, grassy hops were quite apparent. The hops crescendoed on the back end and intensified with time. Some tart, lemony hop notes came through in the finish.
The mouthfeel was definitely the most impressive aspect of the beer. It was incredibly fluffy and creamy. A super fine, moderate effervescence gave the liquid a pillowy soft quality.
Summer of Lager is rather authentic tasting version of a Munich helles lager. Kudos to Cisco Brewers for making a summer beer that bucks the norm.

Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass.
Deep brass yellow, with hints of orange bronze. Some good rising carbonation, kind of minimal for a pils. Head is soapy bleach white with minimal retention, some soapy small lacing too. Pretty solid.
What a unique nose. This is woody! Hints of deep doughy malt, and bread. Some faint herbal hop spicy quality as well. This very nice and unique, loving this.
What a surprisingly neutral mid palate, with a good finish that slowly builds to flavor. Mid palate fills with virtually nothing except maybe some sudsy thick carbonation. Finish comes with some dough malt, orange and apricot weak juice aromatics. Much of the character hinted on the nose seems to be lost. Some honey like malt thickness for coating, but missing lots of the matched flavors hinted from the aroma.
Overall it's a fine beer, but doesn't really impress me, and comes off slightly disappointing than anything. Warmth really brings the honey and sweetness out more too. Maybe 3.78 isn't so bad after all.
