Poured on-tap and served in a tumbler pint, the beer is a crisp, orange-gold color with a filmy white head. Aromas of toasted oats and butter blended along the nose. The beer's flavors are light and smooth, with a dry hopped bitterness at the end of the palate. Honey and toasted oats throughout, as well. The aftertaste is slgihtly resiny, with a roasted character. Smooth bodied finish, making this a tasty, very easy drinking brew. (434 characters)

A: The beer is relatively clear dark yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high off white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and lacy webs of bubbles down the sides of the glass.
S: There are light to moderate aromas of spicy hops in the nose.
T: Flavors of bready malts and spicy hops are present in the taste, which also has a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has a good balance between malts and hops, neither of which seems to stand out in particular. (674 characters)

Bright yellow and a bit dark for a helles. Nice bright white fluffy head.
Great classic lager smell and taste. Sweet with a touch of lemon in the aftertaste. Very refreshing.
The feel is a little thick seems to be missing some on the carbonation.
Overall a tasty beer with great lager characteristics. (301 characters)

A - Looks like a good Helles lager. Bright crisp yellow with a 1/2 inch of sticky white good stuff.

S - Mild German malts, toasty and good with a great deal of herbal hop balance.

T - Straight up this beer is crisp. Hops are sharp yet subtle with flavors of bready and toast malts.

M - Light and crisp a great beer.

Overall a pretty exceptional Helles lager. Would buy again if given the chance. (400 characters)

Pours a bright, transparent straw colored body beneath the foamy off white head which dissolves to leave a clean yet sticky lacing.

The aroma is a nice clean combination of German malt and spicy hops.

The flavor again offers German malt with bread like qualities and a light spicy or herbal hop presence.

Lighter in body and carbonation with a tasty crip finish.

A nice Helles Lager, true to the style. (406 characters)

Served in a can at Northern Soul in Hoboken, NJ

A: Pours a crystal clear golden orange in color with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a two finger tall creamy white head that very slowly reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer with a thicker ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts, lager yeast, wheat, and hops (citrus/orange + lemon and floral).

T: Flavor is similar to the smell, there is a biscuit and caramel malt body with just a subtle hint of wheat. On top of that malt body, there is a fairly strong presence of hop flavors - citrus/orange/lemon and floral. There are also some light hints of lager yeast spice.

M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Clean, crisp, and smooth.

O: Very enjoyable and quite easy to drink - very refreshing and one I would gladly have again. (924 characters)

Pours a clear, light copper with a dense white head that settles to a nice cap. Aromas of grainy malt, faintly herbal hops, and a touch of buttered popcorn and sweet caramel. Taste consists of more lightly grainy malt, caramel, and herbal, grassy hops with just a touch of bitterness in the finish. Quite easy-drinking. Mouthfeel is smooth and crisp, with a medium-thin body and good carbonation. Really nice Lager overall, perfect for...the Summer. They should name it that or something. (488 characters)

Appearance: Poured into a Pilsner glass is a golden color with a good two fingers of head. As the head thins out thick lacing is left behind.

Aroma: Citrus hops and some floral hops with traces of orange and lemon peel. Light maltiness that's on the biscuity side.

Taste: Crispy mouthfeel with a nice biscuity dryness on the palate. Lemon and some orange peel. Malts are bready with twinge of rye.

Notes: Good and drinkable with a good dry finish with a wisp buttery texture. Cheers. (486 characters)

A: Three finger head, yellow/orange clear body with lots of bubbles.

S: Kind of smells like detergent =) Wheat, citrus, orange maybe.

T: Lemon, orange, malt, wheat, slight funk.

M: Crisp and refreshing!

O: I didn't care for the smell much, but it was a decent! (267 characters)

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a bright gold color, with a short white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains lager yeast, light caramelized malts and a good amount of hops.

T: The taste starts out bready from flavors of lager yeast and a hearty but not too heavy malt character. Then some mild citrus and malt sweetness comes in. The hops presence is good for the style and brings a good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet and slightly bready.

M: Crisp and smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is clean.

O: Tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, mild kick, good representation of style, this is a solid beer to pound down for a while when you’re looking for something simple. (802 characters)

From 06/17/12 notes. Picked this up in NJ at Oak Tree Discount. Poured from a 12 oz. can into a tulip.

a - Pour a clear golden amber color with one finger of fluffy white head and moderate carbonation evident.

s - Smells of wheat, floral notes, light fruit, and light herbal notes. Pretty nice nose, kind of light.

t - Tastes of wheat, grains, pale malts, floral hops. Even lighter than the nose, a bit average to me.

m - Light body and moderate carbonation. Easy to drink body.

o - Overall a decent helles lager. I liked the nose, though the taste was a bit average. Nice for a summer day, would have again but wouldn't seek it out. (638 characters)

The beer pours a hazy pale gold color with a thick frothy white head that slowly fades to lacing. The aroma is good. It has a light pale malt scent with a slight lemony zest and a dry lager yeast aroma. The taste is good. It has a light and fruity pale malt flavor with a tart finish. It is lemony and quite refreshing. The mouthfeel is good. It is a low bodied beer with good carbonation. This is an excellent lager and a real summer time treat. (446 characters)

Review from notes.Had a few of these at a BBQ over Memorial Day Weekend.

A: Pours a clear golden color with a nice two finger white head on top. Pretty good retention, lasting for a few minutes, leaving behind some streaky lacing.

S: Faint citrus and grassy hops, some grain, and a little bit of spice comes forward. Pretty clean.

T: Some grain and bready malt upfront with some grassy hops that balance the malt nicely. There is some faint fruit, mostly lemon and a little apple.

M: Light to medium bodied, very crisp and easy drinking.

O: Was quite enjoyable, perfect for the BBQ and sipping around the pool, especially in cans. At the time did not realize it was 6.25%, very nice for that abv. (705 characters)

Pourer from a 12 oz bottle into a pilsener- pours a clear Goldman straw color; visibly effervescent with 2 fingers plus head that dissipates pretty quickly and leaves a little bit of lacing.

Smell is appropriate for the style- nice light balance of pale Munich malt, yeast and noble hops.

Taste is exactly the same as the smell.

Mouthfeel is good- light body, good crisp carbonation. This is a very nice beer, but it can't stand up to the flavors of summer food (flavor was stomped out by a burger). For this style just get weihenstephaner. (543 characters)

12oz bottle

A- Pours a golden yellow color with an off-white head.

S- The aroma is pale malts, fresh citrus notes (lemon), and hops.

T- The taste is light and crisp but has a really nice refreshing flavor. Pale malts, citrus and spicy hops in the finish make up the flavor profile.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

O- Overall, this is a fantastic summer beer. It is light bodied and highly drinkable, but has enough flavor to make a very nice session beer without getting bored. Did not know this was over 6% ABV, that surprised me! It is very drinkable! Recommended! (611 characters)

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a Relic Brewing nonic pint glass.

A: Very pale, golden copper yellow body with a three-finger head of chunky white foam that left a bit of weak, soapy lace. Carbonation is ample and clarity is excellent.

S: Crisp, snappy grains and an herbal, "farm" hop aroma to it. Some mild, spicy, fruity esters materialize as well.

T: Dry, bittersweet and toasty up front with a fresh milled-cereal grain flavor that crisply washes over with a bracing, herbal hop spiciness. The finish is very textured and almost coarse, like a grainy pear-skin flavor with mild bitterness.

M: Dry, crisp and grainy up front, this brew is pretty smooth with a snappy, although somewhat rough malts finish.

O: A pretty balanced German-style lager for the summer sippin' season. At a time when Kolsch, American pale wheat ales and pilsners dominate the summer landscape, I'm glad to see a sturdy, 6.25% ABV German lager make it's way into the fold. (958 characters)

First had: bottle from Pinocchio's beer garden, Media, PA

Ok, so I waited on this one a bit too long, it being mid-October when I finally got around to cracking it open. Pours into a shaker, a clear bronzed yellow with a slight chill haze, and a nice foamy white head that recedes to a thin layer leaving a bit of lace behind. I really like the aroma: honey and a touch of yeast funk, bready with a touch of hops. Crisp taste of grains and toasted bread, light floral hop bitterness for a dry finish and overall nice balance. Light mouthfeel, a tad metallic in the aftertaste, but definitely refreshing and drinkable overall. (626 characters)

A deep golden amber color and slight, white head, classic look.

Very intense yeast aroma, strange sourness, very malty sweet in the middle, like honey. Musky, herbal and sour.

A very pure and clean effect right off, lager flavor's galore, yummy sour/bready/herbal yeast, dry and refreshing effect. Golden wheat in the malt, again, very crisp. grand balance for this style and hops are not out-of-control!! A subtle woody, bready malt effect later on with a nice hit of herbs and spices.

This one is just a classic lager! (527 characters)

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A: Pours light gold, clear, with about a finger of soda-looking white head that quickly dissipates. Little lacing.

S: Light malts (biscuit) with a hint of sourness, earthy and slightly floral hops.

T: Much more malty than the nose implied. Has a sourness, really almost like a bit of funk, right upfront on the tip of the tongue. It fades rather quickly though to the malty middle. Finish is very light with a touch of sweetness and bitterness.

M: Light bodied, moderate carbonation, very slight bitterness, somewhat of a clean finish.

O: A fairly easy drinking Lager with a slightly strange sour/musty character that I'm really not digging too much. (692 characters)

12oz brown bottle with no freshness date. One can only assume that if it is still summer the summer seasonals are still good.

Pale yellow color glows in the light, chunky white lace. Smells of fresh animal feed grain, thick grassy nose with some fresh herbs in the back. Smooth with a crisp snap. Very grainy but not too rough and certainly not astringent. Mouthful of fresh grass, hint of apple skin ... mealy. A lot of flavor packed into this lager, lots of grassy flavor. Semi-dry finish.

Not too shabby, perhaps not rough but still pretty raw tasting. Worth a try though one was good enough for me. (604 characters)

Sampled on July 17, 2011. It has a pale yellow pour which is a little cloudy and there is virtually no head or lacing. The aroma is moderately malty with a citrus zing backing it up. The overall weught of the body is around medium but there is a nice smooth feel to it. The taste tends to be on the bitter side with a light hopped balance. Likeable. (349 characters)

12oz bottle at fridge temp poured into an SA perfect pint glass. no freshness date to be found.

pours out a slightly cloudy deep golden/ light copper color with a small head that quickly faded leaving just some patchy foam. no lace to speak of.

a nicely balanced aroma of biscuit malt, herbal earthy hops and mineral water. nothing to really write home about, but definatly no flaws.

what i really enjoy right off the first sip is the great tasting biscuit malt. fresh slightly buttery, toasty, biscuits with some toffee caramel towards the finish. hops are there and lend a nice sense of balance with still a little bitterness, light citrus, more fruity herbal. a bit of mineral water taste reminds you its a lager.

lighter bodied, almost medium. lots of carbonation, but nothing fizzy, makes for a refreshing beer. very easily drinkable.

overall, i was very pleased with this beer. not usually a huge fan of lagers, but this delivers tastes everyone can love, enough complexity to suit a beer geek such as myself, but still easily pounded by someone who enjoys swill. im definatly intrigued with what this brewery has to offer and hopefully i can find more of their beers. (1,179 characters)

A- Poured into a pint glass with a clear, deep gold hue. A creamy white head forms to a nice size, retaining well. Lace pillows randomly form on the glass.

S- A faint aroma overall. Lager yeast is immediately present off the top with light malt underneath it. A bit of Euro hop notes, floral and spicy.

T- Malt lends light caramel, toasted nut and sweetness. Hops are grassy, floral and herbal, balancing out the malt. Lager yeast is prominent. Some lemon zest.

MF- Highly carbonated body with a nice creamy feel to it. Finishes a tad bitter.

A good summer lager, and I am usually not a fan of this type of beer. It is refreshing and balanced. (647 characters)

Deep golden in the light and on the verge of copper just looking at it on the table. A decent amount of light fluffy head at the start but dwindles down to just a thick ring around the edges. The aroma is earth and hay with a solid backbone of fresh milled grain. Flavor is light and tangy sweet, subtly toasted malt flavors and a earthy/grassy hop finish. A lot of carbonation on the back of your throat along with a slight metallic tingle right after you swallow. However, that gets covered up by the grassy hops. The finish is has a bitterness that creeps on you but is pleasant. Some lemon flavors are present right as finish begins. Smooth and light body with a strong hop/bitter finish. (692 characters)

12 oz bottle with no date, poured into a SA Perfect Pint

A - Bright golden pour with a finger's worth of white head. Retention is minimal and leaves a loose lace.

S - Malty nose, somewhat bready with a light, fruity edge.

T&M - Roasted malts abound, with a decent dose of a spicy hop presence that provides some balance, but seems to mostly make itself known in the otherwise clean finish. Lighter bodied, with just a hint of fruitiness that adds a bit to the lighter feel.

O - An overall decent offering. Clean flavors, easy to drink, and pretty tasty. Nothing that's going to knock your socks off, but well done. (619 characters)
