A- Pours Ruby red, hints of golden light coming through on the edges, good head, not white, tinted with a bit of malt very small bubbles in the foam.

S- Very sweet in malts, rye, just a hint of hops, more earthy floral hops in the background. Nothing like the barreled age RIPA, more more aroma and i'm a bit disappointed by this.

T- Lots of Rye, The hops finally come through in this double IPA, sweet malt back bone. I get like an orange jello taste with it in the background. I get a bit of bourbon, and alcohol burn, bit of cherry syrup. Its almost fruity tasting with the rye and the malt backbone and a lot of other flavors going on to.. sorry i'm enjoy drinking this, and can't focus.

M- Smooth thick and heavy, not your more refreshing pale or ipa, this is heavy and flavorful, and you better have a freind to drink this with or a fine meal.

D- This is a solid beer, however the barreled age is a couple levels above this. Still a good beer, its my only beer from He'brew and i'm gonna have to start drinking more of their beers. However the price for 4 is redoculous !

I like the concept of brewing a beer in honor of a person not necessarily affiliated with beer. An edgy comedian like Lenny Bruce who was decades ahead of his time is a great choice for such an honor.

Pours a deep clear copper with a finger of head. The nose is lightly hoppy, but also possessed a dank quality that was not so pleasant. The rye notes are certainly present in the flavor profile, but they do not stand out. The finish is bitter, but not overly so. There is also an odd floral aftertaste on the tongue.

I really wanted to like this offering. I did to a certain extent, but it is a bit too quirky to be considered exceptional.

I got this because it's almost Passover and although I'm not Jewish I figured I'd support a great brewing company and also a comedy legend.

Cheers.

Bottle to snifter glass

A- Deep clear amber. A good amount of tan colored head that laces as you drink.

S- Carmel and that wonderfully spicy rye smell.

T- Carmel and rye followed by a motley of bitter hop textures.

M- Sweet and then bitter with a spicy hit of alcohol. It lingers on the sides of the tongue for a good while.

O- This beer is a little all over the place but as a whole it's a good rye IPA.

A poker buddy gave me this one to try. Had it in a bottle so it was hard to judge the appearance but the smell and taste were outstanding. I was enjoying this beer very much and then I looked at the bottle and realized it was 10%. Wow, no way to see that. Extremely drinkable and tasty while packing a whallop. I will be looking for this beer to purchase, excellent.
