One of the most complex beers I've reviewed. Before I begin, I will preface by saying this particular tasting had been aged two years.
A - Bright and vibrant with a .25 - .5 inch head. Very little lace. Smooth amber coloration.
S - Fruity and floral. The scent of pomegranate is more notable than the taste. An extremely pleasant aroma that is perhaps even slightly more enjoyable than the mouthfeel itself.
T - Here is where this particular beer gets a little tricky. Drinking from a 22 ounce bottle poured into a goblet glass and ignoring poor reviews I've received from friends and fellow beersnobs, I was immediately turned off after the first several sips. I was disappointed in the almost over-bearing floral flavor. After letting the beer breathe for a few minutes, I found the flavor returning to subtlety and it drank as any light summertime beer should. The fruit is very nasal and almost completely overpasses the palette. Almost no back-end, but the instant (but not overbearing) rush of pomegranate in the front-end (just barely) compensates. Very tart. There are hints of other fruit (berries, perhaps?!) that I wish were a bit more prominent, and the flagship ingredient downplayed a bit.
M - Light and sweet. Extremely sweet. No "choppy jaw" here. An average example of how a summertime beer should leave the mouth and palette feeling. I would even go so far as to compare the mouthfeel to that of a seasibak Hefeweisen.
D - This one's up to you. I ranked it at a 3.5, but I fail at adequately describing it accurately. I apologize for this. Like I said...it's a damn complex beer.

Pours a dark copper with blonde highlights into my glass. Lots of head and lacing.
Upon opening the bottle, the aromas made an immediate impact upon my olfactory gland. Wheat, caramel and a hell of a hop bill. Pomegranate juice also in nose.
Molasses, caramel, toasted bread and a touch of pomegranate make up the taste of this excellent beer. The hops don't have a chance due to the excellent malt bill.
I have mixed thoughts about the mouthfeel. It's "sour" and that could be the pom juice in play. Some caramel, etc lingering though.
Not a bad choice for the price, which is much lower than their other high ABV offerings. Just not impressive enough to warrant a second round.
