I poured this beer into a pint glass. There is no freshness date on the bottle.
A: The body is a deep ruby-orange color topped by a think, foamy, cream-colored head which lasts for a long time and leaves a pretty fair ammount of lace on the glass.
S: It smells strongly of pomegranate. Lots of fruit smells really, such as banana and cherry. There is a sweet malty smell
T: The sweet malty taste comes through immediately. There is the tartness of pomegranate, which is complemented nicely by the warming alcohol. It is interesting that the bitterness comes more from the tart fruit than the hops.
M: The beer is full-bodied, with smooth carbonation and an oily sort of mouthfeel.
D: Despite this beers uniqueness, I don't think that it scores very highly for "drinkability". In my opinion, it is too overwhelmingly fruity to be a good beer to have a few of in a night.

Pours a dark copper with blonde highlights into my glass. Lots of head and lacing.
Upon opening the bottle, the aromas made an immediate impact upon my olfactory gland. Wheat, caramel and a hell of a hop bill. Pomegranate juice also in nose.
Molasses, caramel, toasted bread and a touch of pomegranate make up the taste of this excellent beer. The hops don't have a chance due to the excellent malt bill.
I have mixed thoughts about the mouthfeel. It's "sour" and that could be the pom juice in play. Some caramel, etc lingering though.
Not a bad choice for the price, which is much lower than their other high ABV offerings. Just not impressive enough to warrant a second round.
