What do you say about a beer with a name that is equal opportunity offensive? It is good, that's what.
I'm not starting with the color, as the first thing you notice is the raisin/date smell. (Or fig?) And perhaps a bit of alcohol. But, to speak in Biblical terms, I saw it, smelled it, tasted it, and it was good. This beer may not part the waters, but you will remember it!
Hard to define, but this is an interesting beer that won't bore you. This is classified as an "American Strong Ale" but I think that is a bad way to start the conversation. Not for beginners, but if you like Belgian and want to go a new direction. Try it.
Worth a taste.

About a medium brown with an orange-red hue deep within, Rejewvenator grows a nice, reasonably sized tan head that keeps itself up for almost as long as the bee remains in the glass, leaving behind mostly patchy lacing.
There's more doppel character than dubbel, likely because the stronger characteristics overcome those of the dubbel. The nose and flavor present malts with a touch of roast and molasses mingling with some dark fruits and the accompanying sweetness. For so much fig, it doesn't express itself as strongly as one might think, though it's certainly there. It's bready and a little tart as well. Belgian yeast adds a touch of character that, while overcome somewhat, do complement.
The mouthfeel is rich, thick, and robust, while also keeping an underlying crispness. Carbonation might be a little high, but only slightly.
