I usually enjoy the Coney Island beers, but this one was a bit too weird for me. For one, it's a reddish-pink with a pink head. I found myself asking "why?" more than "how?". It throws off your sensibilities. In my humble opinion, if it ain't a lambic, it shouldn't be red or pink. But I digress.
The nose is slightly malty with a burnt bread quality and some bitter hops... odd but not entirely enjoyable. The taste is a bit more of that. Really burnt malt flavor mixed with a hop bitterness that does little to give the beer dimension. It's certainly drinkable, just unremarkable. On one hand I enjoyed the fact it was unique and couldn't be pigeonholed into a genre. On the other hand, it wasn't really great in any regard. Mouthfeel is somewhat full and mildly carbonated. I was done after one with no desire to go back.
B+ for originality, C for execution.

This is, hands down, my favorite beer of all time. I encountered it a few years ago back home in Atlanta at a place called The Porter. It has a lovely blood red color and a pinkish foam that I've never seen in any other beer I've ever had. It has hints of apple, orange, and a floral print somewhere from what I tasted. At 6.66% ABV, it's a devilishly delightful drink. It's a little thin in your mouth, which doesn't really make a lot of sense considering the flavor you get. Also, the smell, doesn't really hit you as hard as I think it should, but those two things are minor compared to the beautiful flavor.

I was able to buy a bottle of this and did just because I had to pour it into a glass and see it with my own 2 eyes.
The appearance is a site to see red beer with a pink head awesome.
The taste on the other hand is nothing to brag about. It was drinkable, I will only have it this once.
