Review from BeerAdvocate magazine Vol. II Issue X:

"Indulge! Your inner beer freak," says the label. OK. Let's get freaky with some beer! Hey, it wouldn't be the first time for us.

Pours ... um, red, like red fruit punch with a bright, dark pink, creamy lace. Light grains, herbal, and a faint suggestion of sweetness in the nose. Very smooth and creamy up front, with a fluffy medium body. Carbonation is crisp and refreshing. Malty sweet, but not overbearing, with semi-sugary fruitiness that smacks of an '80s lunch-box cherry drink complete with the bendable straw glued to the side. Still, it remains lager-esque. It's clean overall, with a touch of sour bitterness, metallic, delicate herbal hop notes, and soft bready notes. Things get a bit abrasive and aggressive as things warm up. Leafy, pithy, grapefruit edges and faint minerals/salts. Malts get a bit more toasty, full and sweet too. Fruity esters become pronounced. Finish is powdery and dry, but cleans up fairly well.

Gimmicky or good? Both! Gotta hand it to Shmaltz. Their marketing is simply awesome. This is a fun, unique and tasty lager--that's all that really matters.

22oz bomber.

Pours a hazy beet red color, big frothy head sticks around. Floral citric hop oil aroma with a toasty maltiness on the side. Hop character is a bit chaotic but pleasant at the same time; herbal, citric zest, earthy, minty and woody. Maltiness drops some sweetness to battle it out for dominance though meets the hops half way and stops. Ending lands a little bitter sweet with a lot of linger hop oil flavor.

Rokken like Dokken, think way outside of the box for a fall seasonal. Not an O-fest and there are enough pumpkin spiced brews out there, make this your alt beer for the fall.

This is, hands down, my favorite beer of all time. I encountered it a few years ago back home in Atlanta at a place called The Porter. It has a lovely blood red color and a pinkish foam that I've never seen in any other beer I've ever had. It has hints of apple, orange, and a floral print somewhere from what I tasted. At 6.66% ABV, it's a devilishly delightful drink. It's a little thin in your mouth, which doesn't really make a lot of sense considering the flavor you get. Also, the smell, doesn't really hit you as hard as I think it should, but those two things are minor compared to the beautiful flavor.

I was able to buy a bottle of this and did just because I had to pour it into a glass and see it with my own 2 eyes.

The appearance is a site to see red beer with a pink head awesome.

The taste on the other hand is nothing to brag about. It was drinkable, I will only have it this once.
