Pours dark brown with a tight khaki head.

In the nose chocolate and raisin are most profound along with some earthy hop notes, but this is mostly malt in aroma.

The taste is similar. A minimally dark molasses of a brew with hints of fruitiness in the center and which then rolls into a bittersweet coffee and dark chocolate finish with a hop bite.

This beer has serious flavor. Mostly malt but some hops are there lingering in the dark shadows. It is robust, roasty and delivers a bite, with a boozy punch.

It's heavy, syrupy, thick, chewy and slick on the palate, don't let this be your first venture beyond Bud Light.

Picked this up at Russell's in Amherst years ago. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Poured a nice dark dark brown hue with a good almost two finger dark tan head that fades to leave a thin thin cloud and light halo.

S - Aromas of figs, raisins, molasses, strong malt sweetness, toffee, light light smoke, faint booze.

T - Taste is tons of big sweet malts, figs, raisins, dark fruits, molasses, smoke roast, caramel, toffee, light char, sweet sticky goodness.

M - Mouthfeel is lowly carbonated, very sticky and syrupy. Alcohol hidden nicely.

O - Overall, a tasty beer. Not sure how this was fresh, but it did age nicely. Would prefer it to be less sticky on the mouthfeel though.

12oz. bottle from the 2011 Holiday Pack.

(A)- Pours a fairly dark brown, almost black color. Some tan froth.

(S)- A rich but deep malt profile with bits of raisin.

(T)- A good dense roasted grains component with raisin and molasses. Subtle bits of cocoa.

(M)- A good carbonation level and balance. A good roasted bit near the end. A smooth feel to it despite the hefty ABV.

(O)- Overall, a solid strong ale that is quite drinkable despite its strength.

12 oz bottle, from the 2010 Vertical Boxset.

appears a very dark brown color, off-white head that fades to nothing. aroma of plum, fig, tobacco, spiced rum. similar flavors in the taste. complex and blended taste. medium to thick body, lower carbonation.

overall - they added one more grain and one more hop, but it's still very similar to Jewbelation 11 and 12.

Opaque brown-black with a thin ring of light brown foam.

Sherry, raisins and other dark dried fruits, a touch of roast and nuttiness, a light earthiness as well.

Restrained roast, then the earthiness, lots of dried fruit and sherry, and then a dry dark chocolate finish. Perhaps the driest of the series so far.

Pretty heavy-bodied despite the dryness, low carbonation.

A slow sipper, but well done. Would go nicely with a cigar or the right cheese. Has a lot of subtle notes if you're willing to take the time to look for them.
