12oz bottle picked up at the MLCC of all places. Poured into a pint glass.
Pours a filtered reddish-copper colour with an inch of tan head that recedes quickly and leaves a few bubbles and a little lacing. Carbonation is slow and low. Aroma starts off a bit metallic, but then becomes more earthy and mineral-like. Hops are very subdued, but there is a bit of floral character there. A touch of honey, then a big crackery malt presence. More British in aroma than American.
Big nutty and crackery malt flavour dominates the palate at first, but then a light roasted character followed by a bit of floral sweetness and a bit of piney bitterness that dries the palate to entice another sip. Balance is good but it lacks a bit of flavour. Nonetheless it's tasty, and it a sessionable brew. Mouthfeel is zippy and dry with a medium-light body. This is a decent summer pale ale.
