Pours dark amber, almost red with a finger width foamy head, which persists through drinking. There is a good deal amount of lacing on the side of the glass. The smell is not really all that overpowering. Can determine citrus, slightly grassy smell. You get a malty taste up front, quickly followed by a moderate hoppy taste with a stronger malt at the end. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, almost soapy. Not a bad beer, but I have definitely had stronger and better pale ales. Would drink it again, but there are others I would chose first.

Nutty brown body with a mostly white head and lace that clings to the glass like crazy. Some visible floaters in this one...

Smells a little spicy, sweet, and citrusy, with a little funk.

Not a lot of flavor, a little bitter, a little too watery. A little funk, I think this one might be beyond it's date.

... I don't know about this one...

Appearance: Dark caramel.

Aroma: Woody (more like bark)

Taste: Dank and too bitter for the amount of
malt used. Unbalanced.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light in body with little carbonation. Too much sediment.

Final Thoughts: This beer might be He'Brew's poorest offering. Mr Cowan should develop a solid core of good beers (ie RIPA on Rye) and avoid so much "marketing shtick"...enough already.
