Appearance: Burnt orange with accents of light brown. Pours with about a half a finger of head. Low amount of carbonation active while drinking.

Smell: Chewy malt and cascade hops jump out right away. The Centennial and Citra hops add some sweet and sour accents to the aroma. Caramelized malt is very potent.

Taste: A smooth lightly hopped front greets the palate. Again, Cascade hops are the biggest player here but in this brew the hops seem to block each other out. Light finish, some hop sweetness but overall a forgettable end.

Mouthfeel: Very light, subdued hop bitterness.

Overall: A decent IPA. Aroma was more complex and interesting then the taste. This is a middle of the road brew.

Poured from a bomber into a Jester King tulip.

Pours a hazy amber. Thick head that lingers into substantial lacing.

Much less hop on the nose than I expected from this beer. A bit of malt sweetness, but overall very mild.

Has the hop bitterness very forward here, but not a lot of complexity. From the name and label I was expecting a hop bomb but this is more of straight forward IPA. It's not a bad example of one at that, but this definitely left me feeling that I didn't get what I was promised.

Mouthfeel is fairly light with just a bit of a crisp bite at the end. Very drinkable for an IPA.

A pleasant enough beer to drink, but a bit of a disappointment overall.

Pours a slightly hazy bright gold color with a very nice head. Good looking pour.

Aromas are of lemon zest, oranges, cream, and light grassiness.

Taste is quite bitter and fruity up fruit. Nice lemon zest, bitter orange, grapefruit, and a good background of creamy malt sweetness. Finish is crisp and dry, with more bitter citrus notes. Nice balance between bitter hops and sweet malts.

Mouthfeel is good. Nice body, crisp carbonation, and not heavy.

Overall, pretty solid IPA. A pleasant surprise really, because I have had hit and miss beers from Shmaltz.

Appearance: pours a dark orange color with a 2" heads that lasts a while. Moderate lace develops during the session.

Smell: earthiness and pine rise from the glass.

Taste: caramel, pine, grapefruit, big earthy / woody flavor, slightly tart green grapes, and a hearty bitterness are the main flavor components.

Mouthfeel: medium bodied beer. Lightly crisp throughout with some dryness late. Long lasting earthy bitter aftertaste.

Overall: easy to drink IPA. Nice flavors, and drinking the bomber in a session is a breeze.

12oz bottle. Pours a light brown semi translucent color with a half inch of head. Good lacing. Aroma is malty with some pine and sweet brown sugar. The taste is pine and sweet malts. Some brown sugar and earthiness as well. Floral hop notes as well. Reminds me a bit of a Rye IPA. Some bitter floral hop flavor at the end. Medium bodied with a bit of a light mouthfeel. Pretty decent beer to find in a mix 12 pack. Overall, decent IPA.

APPEARANCE: Pours an unfiltered light brown or deep copper color. Soapy, filmy froth forms and drops a nice lace to the brew.

AROMA: Piney, herbal, grapefruit, malty.

FLAVOR: Opens up with a balance of toasted caramel malts and a piney, herbal hop character that is plenty earthy. Notes of leafy and oily hops are all over the semi dry finish to this beer. Malt and hops give a 1-2 punch to this beer, with a faintly fruity ale yeast backing. Citrus, herb, grass and bush clippings. Hop forward, but there is a sturdy malt base. Drinking just fine, had enough character, body and flavors to keep it interesting.

FEEL: Full bodied, smooth, perfect high medium carbonation.

OVERALL: A good solid IPA with all the right hop flavors, a lush malty body, and enough character to set it apart from many others. I would call this an English inspired, east coast IPA. Meant for extended sessions. Worthy.

Somewhat hazy. Amber color hints at a toasty malt. Static suds sit as a thin cap.

Big caramel malt, piney hops, a slight cat piss note, sweeter malts with toast, earthiness, and light funkiness. Strange for an IPA. Very malty, comparatively.

Earthy and with a little stank. Hops are unremarkable, but the toastiness is nice. More pine, but a lot of caramel/toffee. Much drier now, thank goodness. Onion-y cat piss hops are also present. Not in a pleasing way. Strange minty aftertaste. Malts carry through, too. I feel like there are clashing off-flavors that ruin the good of this beer.

Drinks decently. Balance of carbonation and body make for an easy drink.

I mean, I wish this beer didn't smell a little like butthole. And, taste a little funky, too. Whatevs. I learned my lesson.
