Chippers is a bar that has a great atmosphere, and a clean look and feel. It's not too nice to have a pretentious feel, but it's not a hole-in-the-wall either. It definately has a "pub" feel to it, and is a welcoming atmosphere for younger and older ages alike. The selection is decent for Meadville, and you will find some bottles that are unavailable elsewhere. Nonetheless, I wish they had a bigger selection so that they'd stand out even further from other bars in town. The service is pretty good, but can get busy at times. The food is pretty decent too, but nothing extraordinary.
All in all, it's one of my favorite establishments in Meadville; an easy place to talk to friends, drink beer, or shoot pool. I'd recommend it first in town.

For a bar in Meadville, Chipper's has the best bottled beer selection. Not many imports, but they have some gems like Smith's Oatmeal Stout and Chimay. Wish they had more taps, as Guinness is probably the best one they have on tap, though it's a staple in most bars nowadays.
It has a bottom level and two upper levels, one with a pool table and some high tables and chairs, and the other's used more for seating area. It's one of the cleanest (if not the most) and best looking bars in Meadville overall.
I wish they had more bottles, though in small town Western Pennsylvania you're not going to have many getting Sam Adams, much less Sam Smith, so that's understandable.
The service is always pretty solid, too, even when it's pretty crowded. And this regards getting served food and / or just beer at the bar.
The food is bar food, but they have wing specials on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and salads and sandwiches and the like, which are pretty good but not great.
Check it out if you're in the area. It won't compare to city bars, but it's not bad for sure.

The atmosphere of Chipper's is a really well done bar that offers the best bottle selection in the Meadville area. Sure to find Allegheny students, enjoying some wings and a discount pitcher on wing nite. They do have Guiness on tap, and I have even seen Chimay Red in the bottle there. That alone makes this place the best beer bar in Meadville, PA. A great place to hang out, shoot some pool, bullshit with some friends, or relieve some stress. The wings are damn good, and the waitresses do their part by being very good their patrons. Not the most beer knowledgeable staff, but the owner is pretty into beer. I think that's what drives their wider range of bottles. A nicely done pub, I have always enjoyed myself there.

Not a huge food selection other than your typical bar foods, but does have 25 cent wing night tues and thurs with 12 choices of sauce. Wed night special is 1.75 selected micros and imports (good ones too, five types of sam adams, erie brewing, steigmaire, harp, etc), which is when i usually go. Pitchers are cheap, 4.00 for yuengling, miller lite, and mgd. Relaxed atmosophere, well lit, good jukebox selection. 75-80 different beers on bottle (65 of which are micros and imports, everything from sam smith to belhaven) and prices are reasonable. Friendly bartenders, especially the night girls, and karaoke night on wed. If you like good beer and arent about a loud, dark, noisy bar full of drunks this is the place to be if you're in Meadville.
