Probably my favorite bar in the Short North I have been to. A great selection of Whiskey for not too much. The flight is the best deal if you are trying to try a bunch of different varieties. I tried the Jack Daniels Single Barrel, which was excellent. This place is not too far from campus, adding to its appeal.

This fairly new place in the Short North fashions itself a Whiskey Bar, so Bourbon, Scotch, etc are its main theme with emphasis on the Bourbon. The on tap selection is small, but good, the bottle selection larger, but not promoted like the whiskey. The food is similar to other offerings in the area shooting for a middle ground between high end and bar food. The service is good but can be spotty is they get slammed due to the separate room with tables that must be serviced. The main problem with it is the small size which may turn away many looking for a table or a seat at the bar.

This is a relatively new bar in the Short North, just up from Bodega, across from Skully's.
Their focus is on whiskey. Their name comes from their selection of at least 44 different whiskeys. Any whiskey fan should stop in here, there are some really tasty bourbons. They do flights of 3 whiskeys of your choice as well.
Their beer selection also caters to fans of a finer drink. It looks like there is anyways something from Columbus Brewing on tap and they frequently have some sort of barrel aged beer, sometimes paired with the bourbon on which it was aged.
They do have food, but I didn't get any. I did see some good looking plates though, mostly burger type foods.
Our service was hit or miss. They seemed to know a lot about whiskey, but were very slow at times. I had to walk up to the bar and wait for a good 5-7 minutes in order to pay our bill.
Check this place out. It should be on your list of Short North bars to hit.
