A very convenient bar with 16 taps of microbrews, principally from California. This is the bar associated with The Daily Grill. So you can have a couple fine beers, then adjourn to a table at The Daily Grill for an excellent meal. For my money, this is the best place to have a beer in the Downtown area...far better beer selection than the Bonaventure Brewing Co for instance, and much easier to find.

The night we visited PS612 had on tap beers from: Green Flash (Vista, CA), Bear Republic (Healdsburgh), Moylan's (Novato), North Coast (Fort Bragg), Ballast Point (San Diego), Anderson Valley (Boonville), Craftsman (Pasadena). And a half-dozen quality import taps. Then there was their "library" of many quality cans and bottles.

Public School 612 also has a nice bar menu that could satisfy most beer drinkers. The Pub Burger ($12) for instance was perfectly done, topped with Huntsman cheese, balsamic onions and bibb lettuce. Short Rib ($12) was served with mashed potatoes and caramelized onions...and could also be obtained as tacos ($8) served with slaw.

Stopped by here after a long day of work. Just for one beer but ended up getting a lot more - beer selection although small seems to have something for everyone. Pils, saison, cheap and expensive stuff. Same goes for the food - something for that buddy that goes for the priciest thing and for that other buddy that bums a couple bucks off ya - people bar hop downtown quite a bit and I would definately put this spot on the list - I had pizza port Swamis here - and that's my go to beer - really took a lil bit of the edge off a long day -
