I really have been looking forward to visiting this shop for some time now. Everytime I drive by it I am always in a hurry. This weekend, I went to a party a few blocks away; and left there to walk a few blocks to almost heaven.

Great selection of beer! A lot of options from all over. This was probably the best selection I have seen in a long time.

The only problem, is PA. Only allows you to buy cases. I wish I was richer!

Service was great too. The guy behind the counter helped me out a lot!

Definitely recommended!

I visited McBroom's for the first time today in search of a beer I have been unable to find anywhere else. The place is small and crowded with cases of beer, but the selection was pretty impressive compared to your average warehouse beer store.

The staff greeted me and although they did not have in stock the beer that I wanted, they offered to get it for me. They're the first store that has made this effort and I very much appreciate that. I picked up a case of another beer, and will be waiting for them to let me know when the special order comes in, as they said it should take only a day or two.

All in all, very helpful staff and a good selection of beers. The only possible downer is that there's not much parking in Regent Square, so I had to carry my case a couple of blocks.

I went into McBrooms after my D's six pack experience just to look at their selection. Not much has changed as everything is pretty much piled in the center, maybe they did make an isle or two from the piles but it was kind of aggravating for trying to find a certain Founders beer (Cerise) and moving a couple of cases to see if it was on the bottom.

Another gripe was their cold coolers. I found seasonal's from the fall that really should have been at least moved to the side or at least discounted at the front in order to make room for new beers (say this years Bell's Hopslam?)

I found a bells section and found mixed cases, amber, porter, dopplebock, and even Third Coast ale but no Hopslam. Not really hunting any I asked the clerk and he told me the price which was a reasonable 56.99 and went to the back bringing it to the register. I readied my ID and he gave it back not even looking at it which I guess would be cool for underage kids looking to score beer. Getting my hop slam I thanked them and left.

Besides the mild problems it was overall a decent place to buy beer.

Stopped in for the first time yesterday and I will never go back. The store, while not filthy, is not really clean, either. The cases of beer are all just piled in the center of the store. I'll give them credit that at least the piles are pretty much sorted by brewer, but that's the best I can say.

Service was horrible. The two guys working not only saw me walking around, obviously looking for something, but never asked if I needed help. Even that by itself would not be too bad, but one of them cussed the whole time I was in there. I'll admit I don't have the cleanest language around my friends, but I would never expect to hear that kind of language from an employee while he's at work.

I will give props for the small 'wall of beer' that shows what imports they have and the price. It doesn't tell you if they are actually in stock at the time, though, which is a bummer.

If you like macros and live close by, I would say this is busines would be all right.

I will never go back, though.

I remember coming to McBroom's 10 years ago when the selection was not quite what it is now and the space was a bit tighter.

Walk in today and you will find a fair amount of decent stuff. Pretty full line of Troegs, Bells, Great Lakes, some Rogue, Clipper City, Brooklyn, and many others. There are of course a wide variety of macros. Service is good. If you want something and they can get it, they will. Overall this is a good stop and much better than the mass majority of the beer distributors sprinkled throughout the city. If you want a case of Nugget Nectar (they had 9 or 10 left today), go for it. Bell's? Go for it. Want singles? Hit up D's virtually next door.

Bottom line is that this is about as good as it's going to get in Pittsburgh.

I do most of my case shopping closer to home on the west side of town but this place is worth the drive once in a while. With such a huge selection on hand there is no need for special orders and the prices are nice also. The staff seemed to have a general knowledge of craft and import brews. The place it self is rather small and filled from head to toe with cases and there is a wall with a bunch of import bottles showing what they offer from over seas. A good place to go for a case at fair prices and not have to wait a couple days for a preorder.
