Situated as a pseudo-speakeasy might, this bar is decked out like it was lost in 1930. The decor is antiqued and the mixed drink menu is based around post and per prohibition era cocktails along with an outstanding beer menu. They have beers ranging from oude beersel to Stone old guardian; the beer here kicks ass. Not only are the drinks good, but the food is impeccable. From the pickled watermelon pork belly fig jam appetizer to their home made pizza (that also includes house made and aged cheese), the local peasant is where I take all of my friends and business contacts when they want to have a drink, a talk, and a bite.

Good bar. Nice people. Wide open. Decent selection. Friendly and mostly knowledgable staff. Tasty burger and deviled eggs.
If I opened a bar with food, I'd model it after this place. Only with a better tap list.
I hear they opened another one further out the 101, but I've not yet tried it.
This one, however, is a good stopover for a quick pint and burger.

Great neighborhood place with that aims to produce a local feel. The theme is based on a local farm-to-table idea...whether we are talking food, beer or wine.
The decor is simple yet effective. Stools and table can get a little uncomfortable if sitting for long periods of time. But overall a fun social atmosphere and definitely a cozy place to wine and dine with friends.
Food is flat out awesome but a little on the heavy greasy side. Not the place to go if you want to eat clean.
Now on to the good stuff...have like 20 draught beers and usually a pretty good mix. Only think I would like to see is maybe a good sour and other good Belgium one. Also a lot of bottled stuff. A few Russian River ones, Ballast Point, and a few other Cali Brews.
Great spot to go and mix it up.
