appearance: Clear but nice brown color, very distinct and very pretty
smell: Very nutty almost holiday like smell, very roasted though, definitely piques the nose buds
taste: Very nice roasted almost smoked flavor, really like it. Has an almost maple wood smoked taste, delicious.
mouthfeel: Has a little staying power but all in all it dissipates quickly, little disappointed would have loved to have it around longer
overall: If you can find it try it, this is a fantastic brew and worth the dynamic flavor.

The colour is brown-red; the pale beige head is two fingers high and airy. Some lacing occurs.
The smell is dry and lightly roasted. I noted some bread-like malt, flowery hops, mixed vegetables and a mild bitterness.
The taste is complex for being a lager. Lots of butter, rye bread and flowery notes are balanced by a mild bitter-sour hoppy flavor. Some milder notes of fruits (peaches, bitter oranges, kiwi) and spices (nutmeg, star anise, allspice). The aftertaste is dry with some flowery/grassy/herbal notes and a very pleasant mild bitterness.
The carbonation is medium strong; lots of very small bubbles. The liquid is mid-smooth.
A fine Dunkel, and a very good argument against those people who things that all lager beers are boring watery yellow stuff.

Reddish-amber in color with a booming, dense, and a nearly two-inch tall, fluffy tan head that slowly dissipates. Chestnuts, prunes and a smocking of caramel lead the aroma. A flavor of caramel-dipped apples, dry cocoa bricks, and butter pecan with a dry, light bakers chocolate quality. Mild carbonation brings me back to Bavaria, along with its medium-bodied mouth feel and a somewhat thicker viscous tract. Pretty tasty beer that is a must try when in this area of the world. PROST!

Yummy! Poured into .5 l bier glass, deep brown reddish hues, with moderate carbonation. Almost no head on pour, and nothing once the beer has settled. Roast grains flavor come through on first taste, with minimal aftertaste. Not heavy at all....light in the mouth. Goes good with some good German winter food.
