12 oz bottle, poured into a goblet
Appearance: Pours a pretty, deep, dark, mahogany color, speckled with orange highlights and a quarter of a finger of white head that quickly dissolved away into a halo of foam that gripped the sides of the glass.
Aroma: Nice aromas of toasted malt, Belgian yeast, dried stone fruit, candied-sugar, and a touch of leather.
Taste: Good flavors of toasted malt and dried stone fruit, such as raisins, apricots and prunes up front, followed by some candied-sugar-like sweetness, Belgian yeast and a touch of floral flavors of straw and clover.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied, with some nice carbonation. With an ABV of 6.3%, there is no presence of alcohol on the palate.
Overall: If you had told me that an Arizona brewery could produce a very drinkable bier de garde, I’d been very highly doubtful, but the proof is in the glass! This is very, very good! I’ll certainly drink this again!

Head retention lacking, but nice malt flavor. Very drinkable as the alcohol hides behind the bread/yeast flavors.
