Poured out pretty much an opaque ebony with a two inch mocha-colored head that faded farely quickly. Spotty lacing. Smell is a very subdued smoky chocolate, a bit earthy and a faint whiff of BBQ sauce. Taste again is smoky; with noticeable peat moss, truffles, and just a bit of sweetness and a hint of sour. Finish is metallic and dry. Mouthfeel is medium with some viscosity and mild carbonation.
As with most baltic porters i've tried, this thing needs a moment to air out in the glass to reach ultimate drinkabilty, otherwise that "metallic" tinge is just too pronounced. Earthy and smoky - at the right temp, it becomes really tasty.
