Fairly heavy, dark high-octane porter. Very low carbonation, even for the style - almost seems flat.
No real surprises - it's pretty typical for the style. Impressive that they squeezed all that ABV in without it impacting the taste.

Dark brown with a tan, bubbly head. This receded gradually and left streak lacing. The aroma is faint toasted malt and vanilla. The flavor is similar, with hints of coffee and a bit of alcohol vapor. Very smooth for its ABV. Tasty hops and chocolate aftertaste. A decent beer overall

Very dark brown with some ruby highlights when help up to a light. Three fingers of tan head that lasts about ten minutes and leaves some rings and splotches of lace.
Smell is cocoa nibs with a hint of molasses.
Taste is coffee cocoa nibs rich malts with a balancing bitterness in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel is medium with ample carbonation. Finish is slightly wet with a bittersweet ending.
Overall a tasty brew that hides the 8%abv pretty well.

Black with hints of ruby, rich roasted malt aromas and flavors also hints of semi sweet coca. A beefed of porter with little hint of alcohol and a nice deep roasted bitterness on the finish

- Pours a dark brown, low carb, slightly watery.
- Rather simple roasted malt aroma.
- Taste is very smooth roasted porter with coffee, more sweet than bitter. However, there is nothing imperial about this porter with a thin watery body and little complexity.
- Overall this beer is rather boring. Nice smooth flavor up front, but nothing else... No depth, no body, no richness in the flavor. I would not guess this is 8% ABV, taste more like a 5.5% porter to me.
