Brewed for their 15th anniversary party. Export stout brewed with Jamaican coffee and rum soaked oak chips.
Arrived in an American shaker pint glass.
A: Color is a deep, dark brown, basically black. Thin, tan head that slowly faded, leaving a thin head and ample lacing.
S: Huge coffee flavors wake up the senses (pun intended). Wow. As it warm, faint smokey notes show up along with a more pronounced oaky notes.
T: Coffee is still the star here, but not stale truck stop coffee of some coffee stouts. Limited bitterness, just nice rich coffee make this basic stout shine. Don't really get much rum influence, but the oak chips add an okay, barrel aged flavor that works.
M: Medium body and carbonation. Flavors suggest a bigger body, but about right for a stout.
D/O: Nice, quite enjoyable. Would definitely revisit if brewed again.
