brett significant with some woodiness from 2011 to round out the sourness. low acid. Blueberry on the aftertaste, interacting well with brett. Bottle sample at Birrificio Volo.

I enjoyed this from the bottle shared with me in a pilsner shaped vessel.
I am surprised by the fact the label states it was aged 20 months in maine blueberry wine barrels.
The color is golden with light hazed with white head fine bead. The smell is very deep with brett and floral aromas with a fruitiness that is indistinct. The feel is dry with light toast and slight bitterness with fruity and mildly funky textures with slight woody tannin.
The taste is tangy and mildly malty with woody and light funk type flavor with the wine that is aged in wood. The tannin comes through with slight berry aspect and hint of brett with hay-like earthy quality. Overall I found this to be very interesting and highly drinkable for all that is going on it is very refined and has great complexity -subtle and wonderful a must try.
