Is "Salted Pig" a code term for bacon? Or the begining of something new in downtown Riverside? In this case, the latter looks more likely. The Salted Pig takes up a large area, and even the interior is quite big too. There are two seating area, one which feautres the bar. Tables are spaced far away from each other. The bar is reasonably long. You can probably tell where I went.

A dozen different beers on-tap, listed over on one of the walls. Listed are the beers, their pour, and price. Generally focusing on SoCal beers, brands pouring included Black Market, AleSmith, Port, Bootleggers, Santa Cruz, and Timmermans. Another side of the walls lists the bottles, which contains the likes of Kern River, Avery, Grand Teton, La Chouffe, and Drakes. My draft was served cold in a shaker pint with a large head. Specialized glassware doesn't seem to be a priority. Most of the drafts go for $6, the bottles can get a little pricey.

A fine stop for your craft beer fix in Riverside. Be aware that you will need to pay for parking nearby.

I stopped by the Salted Pig as I was in the area. Overall, I enjoyed the experience very much. First of, it was in the downtown area. The exterior was nondescript with door heavy wooden doors. It's a large space inside. There was a bar area on the right with lots of tables, and the kitchen on the other side. The interior design was simple but nicely done.

I sat at the bar and had a glass of Bruery stout. The server was nice and helpful. She did offer a taster which I thought was a nice touch. I then ordered their street tacos which was good. I agree with other reviewers that the price a little on the higher side. The selection of beers on tap is somewhat limited in number, but had quality beers though.

I'll visit again when in the area and try other items on the menu. Also, as a side note, there was a cool independent coffee shop right next door.

So far, this is the best pub in Riverside (hopefully more to come!). They have a great selection of bottles (e.g. Sucaba), but they come at a price. The draft menu is not as good, but they will offer special releases from time to time. The food is incredible - get the bacon-wrapped dates if you can! Vibe is great, although sometimes a bit loud. Service is awesome. Highly recommended.

Great food, on the higher end price-wise. $15 burgers (very good) and beers are $6-$9 a glass. Draft list varies, bottle list is fairly priced. Nice establishment, that is comfortable and provides a great place to socialize and enjoy nice beers. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and know their stuff.

The Salted Pig was recommended to me by a co-worker while on a business trip in Riverside. We sat at the bar in front on the kitchen. The beer menu was quite extensive. Being from the Southeast, they had dozens of beers I hadn't tried. I wish I would have had more time to try more of their offerings. The Pig Burger was delicious, as was the fried bacon-wrapped dates appetizer plate. How could anything not be good when it's wrapped in bacon and fried? My friend thought the food was all a little too salty, but it tasted pretty good to me. I guess you expect some salt when most of the food incorporates some form of pork. The prices were a little on the high side, but not unreasonable. This is my new go-to spot whenever I'm on business in Riverside in the future!

I stopped in for dinner at The Salted Pig recently as i was in the area on business. I got a seat at the bar, but there are lots of tables and whatnot as well. They had about 8 beers on tap along with an extensive rotating bottle list available as well. I got their Pig burger which was quite tasty, and everything else that came out from the kitchen looked good too. Service was pretty good even though the bartenders were very busy as the night I went it was really crowded. The only real negative is that everything is pretty expensive for both food and drinks, with my burger being $15 and pints starting around $7. However, I would recommend a stop in here if you are in the area.

Hands down the best gastropub in Riverside, The Salted Pig sports rotating drafts (always at least one beer you’ve *got* to try, and always at least one IPA) as well as a well-stocked assortment of bottled craft brews; and a menu of toothsome snacks, appetizers, burgers, and full dinners. You can’t go wrong with the french fries and amazing house-made ketchup, or the filthy fries smothered in roasted garlic and ale cheese, perfect to fortify you for that next glass, goblet, or bottle of beer from Russian River, Ballast Point, or Lost Abbey. For true beer fans, nothing in Riverside competes with the Pig.

This is a great place to visit in Riverside for beer and food enthusiast. Let me start with everything but food & beer. The location is nice, it's downtown Riverside, so much less "ghetto" than the other parts of the city as well as the whole Inland Empire. The service is great, staff is very helpful and will allow you to try the tap beers before the order. Just take the table, the bartenders are not that nice as the servers (ask for Matt or James)
It's a little dark inside but I actually love it. It's not too loud.

Now, the important stuff. They have a huge selection of beer, many bottles and usually around 10-14 beers on tap, which change very frequently, usually every week or two, so you will never get bored even if you're a regular.

Food. I tried a lot of stuff from here, the basic menu is really good, the Pork Belly sandwich is an absolute must try (although I preferred it with mandarins instead of pear much more). The plain ol' burger is great, order it rare. Filthy fries are really really good. They also have many special dishes every week. They recently had Monkfish with pancetta, tapioca & caviar & slab bacon flatbread which were both amazing. Also, they have really good house made ice cream with flavors like chocolate lavender, bacon etc..

If you're in Riverside that is the place to go.

I walked into a short hallway that leads to a open room that is as high as it is wide.  A long bar with alcohol on the right and a bar almost equal in length on the left which is situated in front of the kitchen.  The bartender had a decent amount of beer knowledge and was eager to give me multiple tastings of beers he thought I would enjoy.  I started off with a Drake's Red Eye (after five samples).  They only had one IPA (Drake's Denogginizer) on one of their 12 taps.  This was a little disappointing but their IPA bottle selection was very nice.  Avery "Maharaja",  Kern River "Just Outstanding", as well as plenty others.
I loomed over their menu and decided to start off with the "German" pretzel, which turned out to be three pretzel sticks.  These were tasty and the homemade mustard was sweet and finished with a nose burning heat.  I'm glad I ordered those!  ten I ordered there "The Pig" burger with fries.  The burger was comprised of a bacon/beef burger with cheese and fried egg served on a brioche roll.  I enjoyed this very much.  The fries started off with a somewhat oily flavor but quickly turned Ito what reminded me of the best In and Out fry order I ever had.    I was not impressed with their homemade ketchup which, to me, had a tangy/metally tomato sauce can taste.  I decided to order their almonds to accompany what was left of my "Just Outstanding" IPA.  These almonds are skinless and pan toasted with oil, rosemary and sea salt....delicious!
Overall, I am glad to have come across this place and I will definitely be back to try additional menu items.  They have a wide variety of appreciated bottled beers.  They run through their keg selection quickly so don't depend on their website list.  Definitely worth the trip!

Since this is the first review I will describe the pub. As I entered I went along a short hallway, in front of me was an elevator, have no idea where it goes. One the right is the bar and a small dining area, on the left is a display kitchen with a sort of bar and seats in front of it and behind that is the main dining area. The decor is exposed ceiling and cement floor, it all comes together and feels comfortable. The beer selection is 15 taps and an interesting bottle selection. I tried the Grand Teton Lost Continent, a little to much citrus flavor for me, and the Oskar Blues Pale Ale,all I can say is I wish this was available in my part of the west. Service was also very good, the bartenders are very happy to give samples of beer and this was my fault as I did not try a sample of the Grand Teton before I ordered it.
For food I tried the basic burger which comes with jalapeno cream cheese, it was wonderful as were the fries. Overall the food is way above pub fare quality.
One last thing, this pub is located in downtown Riverside, which is loaded with govt. buildings. At lunch there can be a wait for tables.
