My last day in Atlanta and I am intent in trying Holeman & Finch (first time it was a circus, two-hour wait and we ended up dining at Restaurant Eugene across the street). This time we got there right at 5pm, first customers.
Great bar, sleek and cool looking, chill music and young, hip-looking staff. Service overall is excellent, just like it was at Eugene next door. Lively, engaging bartender very interested in talking about food and drink.
As for beer, they have six well-chosen taps: Lagunitas PIlsner, Allagash Fluxus, Heavy Seas Below Decks, Sierra Narwhal, Red Hare and Guinness. 34 bottles and cans to boot- Boulevard Tank 7, Nimbus Brewing, Duck Rabbit, Mother Earth...
Reasonable prices for one of the best restaurants in Atlanta, six dollars for my snifter of Narwhal and a lot of the bottles.
Beer is good, ambience and service are fantastic but the real attraction is the FOOD! Oh my goodness. Super porky and meaty, including house-cured meats, local cheeses, pork-skin noodles, veal brains, bone marrow and more. I was in heaven.
Portions are relatively small but very rich, and again the pricing is fair for such quality food.
Next time in Atlanta I am definitely coming back to H&F!

Am in town for work, actually north of the city in Marietta, but wanted something decent and this place looked good, on the north side of the city too. Instantly became one of my favorite places! The beer selection isn't big by any means but it makes up for the quantity with quality. The food was supurbe! Small tapas like portions designed to be shared made for a flavorable evening! Steak tar tar, chicken pate, veil brains, and much more! The caramel bacon popcorn was awesome too! Not to mention the atmosphere was perfect, seemingly classy, trendy but very laid back!
Fun and delicious!
I will be going back there multiple times during my stay in Atlanta!

Located conveniently on Peachtree Road just a couple blocks south of Peachtree Battle, this bar has been around for a while and now deserves a review. The atmosphere is a bit on the formal side, but don’t let that put you off - you can be very casual here. Service is good - the help is well-trained and keeps you updated on your food. I had to wait for my dinner, but they were very busy so I can’t criticize them for that. The food is served in small portions, a refreshing change from the huge plates that are one reason why so many of us are tub-tums. Food is excellent - especially the bread! Beer selection is not great, but they carry only good craft brews and imports - no mega-brewed cat whiz here. This place is definitely worthy of a visit.
