A bright, spicy Belgian-style wit. An effervescent, easy-drinking wheat beer, brewed with Belgian yeast, German hops, and a whisper of ginger from the Far East. This mustachio’d Belgian-style wit believes that good beer defies borders. The name Fu Manbrew was crowdsourced with some help from our friends at Scoutmob. They call the mustache a “Flavor Savor” for a reason.

Look: pale yellow with a lot of lacing left on glass
Smell: thought it smelled like a straight IPA when I first smelled it. Ginger was overpowering.
Taste: not too bitter, but it left a strong ginger taste which I didn’t like it.
Feel: went down smooth, but not a very enjoyable beer.

A: Hazy orange color, 1/2 inch off white head, good lacing
S: Ginger, clove, spices, bread
T: Ginger is real pronounced, I get the spiciness of the belgian yeast, has a good amount of malty sweetness to balance.
M: Medium
O: I like this beer, just a little too much ginger for my taste. I like the spiciness and malty balance.

Bottle. CBF pint.
A: pours a hazy golden hue with one finger white head that recedes to a thin skim. Excellent lacing.
S: light malt and somewhat yeasty. Pretty clean; not getting the phenolic note I'd expect. Some mild orangey citrus.
T: light and malty witbier taste, some tart citrusy notes, with spicy ginger kick. This is really good. Clove phenols are mild and express mostly at the end, along with a little mandarin orange peel, but the ginger is potent and clearly is the star of the show.
M: medium weight, slick texture, relatively high carbonation. Very nice.
O: a lot of beers with adjuncts are just a gimmick, but this is good and actually works. It might be a little taxing on the palate to drink a lot of these, but as a one off, I really like it.

First beer I had from Monday Night. Tried it at first at room temp. Bad idea. Chilled it's perfect for after a hot day working in the yard.

Poured from the tap at the Distillery in Savannah, Georgia. The appearance is a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is mostly ginger. The taste follows the nose. A very good beer, i think it would score higher if the amount of ginger used was cut back a little to allow the traditional witbier flavors to be more pronounced.
