Clear burnt orange/coppery colour with a short beige cap. Some soapy bubbles stuck around and the head left a few spots of lacing on the glass as it receded. Sweet, toffee aroma with vanilla and oak, a bit boozy but nicely balanced. Nice flavour too. Mild up front with notes of sweet malts and a hint of bitterness, then --- oak and vanilla and booze, oh my! Big finish with lingering bitterness and toffee/caramel sweetness, along with woody astringency and alcohol warmth. Heavy, almost sticky, body with low carbonation. This is a big beer, perfect for sipping. I may lay a couple of these away for the winter months.

Thanks one more time to mjg0725 for this bottle, the last glass standing from our trade. Svelte 500ML bottle split with my wife (you wonder why? No, not that, we're done with babies, knock violently on wood).
The pour is going fine until the last few ounces, when a glop of sediment flows off the lip of the bottle & hits the surface of the beer with an (almost) audible 'plop.' Result is a dark orange beer that one cannot see through, though most of the solids seem to have sunk quickly. Minimal carbonation. Nose has more toffee flavor than toffee. Actually, that's all I get, but hey, I like toffee.
Baby Maker does, indeed, make me want to strip off my clothes. Actually, I want to do that most of the time, er, the beer certainly packs a wallop of alcohol. The toffee roar is mixed liberally with candied oranges. Mid-palate is the brain-punch: strong bourbon, gorgeous vanilla, hair-numbing alcohol. Honey & sugary sweetness wrap up the package. If there's a weakness, it's a touch flat & heavy, but hey, I could drink a couple of these. And probably live.
Unique, tasty, aggressive. What's not to like? This kicks ass. Excellent beer.
