Poured from bottle into KBS goblet. Date of review is 8/13/14.

Appearance- Gives me a first impression of a peach mead. Honey is the color that pops in my mind. A beautiful white head was present for a few seconds, but it's gone now.

Smell- Smells an awful lot like a barleywine. I get strong flavors of fig, apricot and white cherries. Maybe just a hint of bourbon and vanilla, but the fruit steal the show.

Taste- WOW! It takes a lot to take my breath away from beer, but this is outstanding. Bourbon is the most forward ingredient and it's so super smooth. After the initial bourbon rush, I get tropical fruits. Pineapple, banana and mango. A hint of prunes and figs in the back.

Mouthfeel- This beer wants to be hot, but it's just too smooth. 14% ABV is not present and that's an amazing accomplishment. Hops are present, but not in the way of the other flavors at all.

Overall- I wanted to try this beer, but was not super pumped about it...man was I wrong. Fantastic in every way. I will be trading for this again.

Split with rudzud and threelions,

Small fizzy barely head, crystal clear tan almost toasty brown.

Nose big aged candy malts, caramel, toffee like, done perfumey alcohol, little fig and candied apricot like fruity aromas. Little vanilla barrel, lots of maple, little ethanol.

Taste big sweet candy, toffee and caramel, syrupy thick like maple syrup, candy etc. Tons of vanilla barrel, maple vanilla cream barrel. Then booze, perfumey alcohol and tingly booze. Little nutty note, fruity candied stone fruit, etc. Sticky syrupy finish, lots of alcohol, perfumey alcohol, sweet syrupy candy, etc.

Mouth is a bit heavier bod, syrupy, lots of hot booze, decent but lighter carb.

Overall ok, interesting nice beer but quite boozy.

Split with JLindros.

A - Poured into a Kate the Great tulip a nice crystal clear copper hue with a nice head that faded to leave light sudsy halo.

S - Aromas of caramel, alcohol, vanilla, barrel, toffee. Loads of booze.

T - Taste is barrel galore, vanilla, bourbon, booze, caramel, toffee, quite boozy. The beer heeled better with more sips.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, a sipper for sure and quite boozy.

O - Overall this beer was incredibly boozy but tasty. Will age nicely.

Clear burnt orange/coppery colour with a short beige cap. Some soapy bubbles stuck around and the head left a few spots of lacing on the glass as it receded. Sweet, toffee aroma with vanilla and oak, a bit boozy but nicely balanced. Nice flavour too. Mild up front with notes of sweet malts and a hint of bitterness, then --- oak and vanilla and booze, oh my! Big finish with lingering bitterness and toffee/caramel sweetness, along with woody astringency and alcohol warmth. Heavy, almost sticky, body with low carbonation. This is a big beer, perfect for sipping. I may lay a couple of these away for the winter months.
