Hey, what can I say except you get what you pay for. Saw this for $12 change per 12-pack. Figured it was Jack's and how could you go wrong. But don't be fooled by the Abby's ratings because this offering is not on par with their other fine brews.
I guess if you like thin 4.5% ABV beers you'll be okay. Many others brew it worse. Since I'm an Imperial drinker I'm probably way too harsh. Try it, you won't dump it, just lower your expectations if you're used to their better brews.

Appearance: 1/2 inch head, gold in color, clear, high carbonation
Smell: straw and toasted malt
Taste: straw, grass, toasted malt, light hops at the end
Mouthfeel: high carbonation, light bodied, sweet with light bitterness
Overall: Typical Jack's Abbey. Another solid and clean lager. Even though it is a light beer, it is still a bit heavier than most in the style. I will be getting more of this.

12 oz bottle dated 6-20-14 poured into a SA Perfect Pint glass.
A -- Pale straw color with a thin white head. Lots of bubbles from the nucleation points. Head has good retention.
N -- Grassy. Light malts. A little bit of hops as well.
T -- Follows the nose.
M -- Really light and crisp. They set out to make a great American lager with real ingredients, and it shows. I like this.
O -- Again, I like it a lot.

A: 1 finger white head quickly fades. Pours a very clear, very pale yellow
S: Heaps of crackery, biscuity malt
T: Again with the sweet biscuity malt with a slightly drying finish. A very mild bitterness keeps the beer relatively balanced
M: Extremely refreshing and easy to drink
O: Not a super complex brew by any measure, but very well done for what it is. I'd be curious to try this side by side with Jabby Brau, as this seems very similar but with a reduced hop presence.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on August 15, 2014.
Pale yellow pour leading up to a modest white fizzy head. Decent clarity.
Grains and malts take over the aroma with a mildly clean hop note.
Light to medium body.
Like the aroma the taste leans more to the grainy side with a mild hop finish. It was not bad all in all.

Got this beer at City Feed in Jamaica Plain Boston.
Poured out of a 12oz bottle into a lager glass.
Serves up a light yellow body and a nice foamy head. Smells of minerals, malt and some hops flowers. Very American Lager-y. Low carbonation. Overall, this beer is certainly best served cold. I had mine slightly warmer and didn't really like it. Had it on the cold side and found it refreshing. This has a definite American Lager flavor to it, so don't expect something similar to what the brewery typically puts out.
