1 pint .9oz bottle poured into large Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass. Liquid was initially lighter than I expected, but then I remembered, it's about the same color as every other double "IPL" type beer. Sort of a golden straw color with a slight amount of haze. Huge frothy head with lots of different sized bubbles. Tons of lacing on this one, stays on the glass the whole time.
Smell is really, really good. Plenty of hoppy goodness. According to the label it's got New Zealand Kiwi Hops. Really good, a potent, yet gentle hoppiness tickles your nose as you smell. Citrus and not quite ripe tropical fruits, mango, kiwi, pineapple, maybe peaches. A really nice blend.
Taste is on par with the smell except it's a little more balanced. A nice malt backbone provides some initial sweetness. Then the hoppiness kicks in and it's awesome. Sort of earthy, piney and citrus zest are the big components. After that there's some flavors of some tropical fruits. Really well blended overall, a great tasting beer.
Mouthfeel is very good a nice carbonation level. 8.5% alcohol is very well hidden. Well balanced between sweet an bitter. Close to full bodied and a little earthy, nice strong bitter finish. Overall it's very drinkable.
I've only had a few "Imperial Lagers" most are called Imperial Pinslers, but hey, a pilsner is a lager. This is one of the better ones. It's delicate, well balanced, yet at the same time strong. I like it a lot, and wish it was more available, but I can imagine it's not an easy one to brew.

A - Strong haze on a bright apricot wheat body. Pure white, fine bubbled head has nice retention and awesome lace.
S - Light nose, but what's there is really nice. Lemon pith, parsley, white bread, and old wood tables.
T - Bread crust forward flavor profile with lemon zest and light parsley highlights. Touch of tangerine in the center.
M - Super smooth, slightly slick, medium frame.
O - Nice, smooth, well integrated, and easy drinking. Not sure if it's quite top 250 material though.
