Black color with an average sandy colored head. The head dissipates quickly, leaving only a ring around the edges.

Chocolate, coffee, light black licorice, and a hefty vanilla/oak bourbon.

It's heavy in the bourbon notes, but still let's the chocolate and coffee pop. Molasses shows as well.

Lower carbonation and a tad thin. Boozy.

I'm a fan of this one. It really hits on the bourbon flavors. The only knock is that it could use more heft in the body.

Poured from a 16 oz bottle into a goblet. Purchased in Attleboro, MA. 2014 vintage.

A- Pours a deep brown body with a medium sized light brown head that reduces slowly.

S- Heavy whiskey, milk chocolate, coffee, lots of booze for a 10% beer.

T- Hmm.. the first sip was kind of bland, but as it warms it gets a little better. Slight sweet milk chocolate, heavy whiskey (kinda tastes like straight whiskey, like I a stout/straight whiskey blend), light coffee. The aftertaste is lacking.. not much there.

M- Kind of thin for a barrel aged stout with 10% abv. Low carbonation.

Was somewhat disappointed with BA Framinghammer. Lacked body, flavor, and complexity. The flavors didn't go well together. I'll re-rate if I get another bottle and it's better.

A: Appears black in the glass. Forms a modest light tan colored head that doesn't stick around for very long, quickly reducing to little more than a spotty surface coating and a bubbly ring around the edge.

S: Aroma is dominated by chocolate notes - a blend of dark and milk chocolates. Sweet. Lesser notes of roasted malts and coffee. Boozy bourbony alcohol on the back end.

T: Taste is rather sweet. Starts off with bourbon. Boozy vanilla and chocolate. Then some oak. More sweetness: Molasses and brown sugar. Turns tannic on the back end. Finishes with pour bourbon.

M: Medium to full bodied, but I get the feeling that this one is a bit thin. Mild bitterness. Lower carbonation. Very smooth. Boozy.

O: This is a very bourbon-foward beer. I'd like to say how much you like this beer will depend on how much you like bourbon, but I don't really think that is the case. Bourbon isn't sweet, but this beer is quite sweet. Bourbon isn't chocolatey, but this beer is. In the end, its a good beer, but not at all mind-blowing.
