We honor our Pops with this beer. His vision built the Leisure Time ice brand decades ago and inspired us to build Jack’s Abby as a family business. Leisure Time Lager is brewed with wheat and a blend of spices including lemongrass, coriander, orange peel and chamomile. A subtle spiciness balances the citrusy and floral hops added to the whirl and hopback. Relax and enjoy! Leisure Time Lager uses locally grown wheat from MA.

Pours a slightly clouded gold, with a bubbly two finger head that recedes quickly. Leaves little islands of lacing behind.

Smell is floral hops, and not too strong either.

The taste blew me away. I had just finished a stout 15 minutes ago which may be affecting my palette, but I pick up honey, lemon, butter and biscuit, perfectly balanced.

Light bodied, crisp, drinkable.

This might just be the best beer I've ever had. (428 characters)

Picked up a bottle of this at Julio's, poured into a Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a crystal clear super light pale straw with a very nice two finger bright white head that fades to leave a nice thin white blanket and a good puffy halo.

S - Wow, okay. Its all quite faint but its all quite discernible. Light wheat grains and slight malt sweetness. Its not really typical malt sweetness but more of a honeycomb type sweetness. Light grassy and as someone else said I definitely get a slight herbal lavender note.

T - Woah, what is this? What is this. Crisp and clean, light grassy hops and sweet malts..not not really malts though its more of the honey. Crazy. Whats even crazier is the fact that I'm getting shockingly big lavender flavours. Soft flavours but all there, light flowery tastes. This is really nice.

M - Mouthfeel is maybe a bit too carbonated for me? Its super super drinkable but is brightly carbonated. Great drinking.

O - Overall this is an awesome beer from Jack's Abby. These guys make so many spot on beers and this beer is right up in line with them. Such a tasty drinkable beer. This really is super sessionable too, just gulpable. Wonderfully done. (1,171 characters)

A: Vibrant, straw yellow with a bubbly, white head that builds and fades quickly. No lace or retention.

S: Wheat, light summer fruit, faint hops.

T: Delicious, slightly tart citrus and other light fruit, some grass, wheat. Crisp, clean, refreshing. Tons of flavor. No lingering, bad, sharp aftertaste as I expected from this style. While crisp, it's also smooth and sweet. Slightly fruity hops shine in the finish.

M: So smooth, so flavorful, so different from what I expected with this style.

O: An absolutely awesome beer that I will search out to drink again. I must say, while taste is very subjective, this is a very well-crafted beer so the few previous reviews that rate this below 3.5 must not be rating to style. Yes, an American Pale Lager isn't as great as all the IPA's you drink, but for what it is, it's a damn good beer. (839 characters)

12 ouncer

Hazed/clouded, moderate off white head, minimal lacing

Wheaty, yeasty nose

On the palate, more wheat, yeast again, lemons come to mind.

Easy drinking and pleasant enough brew....Bring on the summer, some salads, some creamy cheese, crusty bread and a few bottles of this respectable but not anything special brew (328 characters)

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.

Appearance: 1/2 inch head, high carbonation, straw yellow in color, clear

Smell: honey, lemon, and fresh grass

Taste: lemon, big time floral flavors--not hoppy floral, but floral, light grain

Mouthfeel: sweet with slightly bitter backbone, high carbonation, light bodied

Overall: I graded this to style and frankly this blows away most of the beers in the style. If not to style, I would still give this over a 4. This is one of the best Jack's Abbey brews. Floral, clean, and complex for the style. Could easily throw back several of these. (590 characters)

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Illegible bottling date.

A: Pours a slightly hazy looking light pale yellowish gold with a small white head on top.

S: The wheat certainly comes through in the aroma with a background of coriander and other spicing.

T: As with the aroma wheat is the forefront of this beer. Solid bready flavor with just a touch of spicing. Mild citrusy fruit flavor. Digging the subtle spice in this as it doesnt overpower the lager qualities.

M: Light body with low carbonation. Something you can easily knock back a couple of on a warm summer day.

Overall a very enjoyable summer beer with a perfect balance between wheat, spice and beer. Pick one up. (680 characters)

Slightly hazy yellow with huge white foamy head. On the first pour it was almost transparent but the second pour dumped all the yeast sediment rendering it mostly opaque. The head sticks around for the entire ride but lacing is minimal.

I can smell a lot of citrus and spicyness, a lot like a Belgian witbeer. Oh this is really good - not as much spice as in the nose but I can definitely taste orange in there. A lot of floral notes as well. Goes down really smooth and it’s as refreshing as a hefeweizen with all the added crispness and cleanliness of a lager. After it warms up a bit I can taste the lemongrass in it as well, but I’d rather drink this one cold – it’s definitely a summer beer. (706 characters)

Poured from a .5 liter bottle into a pilsener- pours a very light, hazy, yellow strawy color with two fingers of bubbly head, decent retention, minimal lacing. Visible effervescence.

Smells of wheat and garden herbs as strange as it sounds. Lovely but not very strong.

Taste is great. I don't like wheat beers as a general rule but this one is an exception- it's incredibly well balanced between light, round wheat notes and barely noticeable but present hop and herb overtones. Not a blast of wheat sweetness as per usual.

Excellent feel- very light body with moderate to full carbonation. Slightly sweet finish but as I said before, very well balanced and incredibly refreshing. Instead of buying a six-pack of UFO or any other cheap hefeweizen for that "summer beer" vibe, pick up a few bottles of Leisure Time and you'll be much happier. (847 characters)
