Great big 23 oz pour on tap at my favorite local beer spot. Pours hazy amber with a nice frothy white head that refuses to die. The aroma is pie spices and... Whoa! Actual pumpkin! Love that part of this beer. There is actual pumpkin aroma and flavor in this beer, not just spice. The spice is fantastic as well. The beer is pretty light and effervescent in terms of mouthfeel. It is a very balanced approach to a pumpkin beer. I could drink this one all night... Hey I just ordered another! I love the creative stuff Jacks Abby is doing with lagers. It is a pretty crisp, refreshing yet bold and flavorful approach to craft beer that seems to impress every time. Very solid overall.

Poured into a Sam Adams perfect pint glass.
Appearance: 1/4 inch head, bright brownish-orange in color, clear, high carbonation
Smell: allspice, nutmeg, and pumpkin spice
Taste: allspice, nutmeg, bread, and pumpkin spice
Mouthfeel: sweet with slight bitterness, high carbonation, light bodied, dry
Overall: A solid, spicy, good pumpkin beer. Nothing mind-blowing, but very clean and drinkable. I will look for this again next year.

500ml bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a clear copper, with 2 fingers of rich off-white head. This retains with a sturdy ½ finger, leaving back sudsy swathes of lace. The aroma smells of raw, vegetal pumpkin, spice and earthy citrus. Sweetness mixes in along the back, giving this a ripe and spicy twang in the nostrils.
The taste is green pumpkin flavor and earthy hop bitterness. A tight doughy sweetness sits on the edges, while a light festive spiciness mostly sticks to the malt. This is dry with some slight lingering bitterness on the finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with an easy smooth crispness that flows well in the mouth.
This wasn’t bad at all. It was a tad vegetal in the nose but really smoothed out nicely as this warmed up as more spice and sweetness emerged and I really liked how this kept the pumpkin character at the forefront while retaining the drinkable smoothness of a Lager. This is another nice beer from Jack’s Abby and I’m definitely going to be checking out more from them.

A - Big ruby/amber coloration. Small head. Little lacing.
S - Hugely robust pumpkin aroma, bread, nutmeg, cinnamon.
T - Big pumpkin flavor, red apple, dull dead malt.
M - Fairly thick. Has the thickness of apple cider almost. Almost no carbonation. Not much hoppage here.
D - Very, very boring beer. Wouldn't get this again and wouldn't recommend it.

500 mL bottled poured into a pint glass.
A -- Clear amber with a thin white head. Good lacing.
S -- Ginger, allspice, nutmeg... usual suspects on the nose, plus more squash than most pumpkin beers. Not overly powerful, but pleasant.
T -- Similar to many pumpkin beers out there. More pumpkiny than spicy.
M -- Really good mouthfeel. Not cloying like pumpkin ales that Im used to. The fact that it's a lager I think makes it crisper. Also has good carbonation.
O -- Solid. I like the appearance and mouthfeel. Taste is on par with other good pumpkin beers. Cheers.

Consumed 11/1/13, purchased at the brewery on 10/12/13
Appearance: Darker than expected, a deep amber with some serious garnet - pours with a very small, off-white head, fades to virtually nothing - not much lacing, either - definitely clear, but not the prettiest Jack's Abby beer
Smell: Fresh, nicely cooked pumpkin - some lightly toasted pumpkin seeds - a nice background of typical pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, clove), but this is really about the pumpkin flesh - nicely toasty, lightly bready, very interesting malt backbone - very, very clean
Taste: Clean, tasty pumpkin - nicely cooked, fleshy pumpkin - kind of squash-like as well - nice spice profile (pumpkin spices noted above), not too much, fits quite well with the other elements - toasty pumpkin seeds - toasted malts, bread - nice complexity to the malts, kind of wheat-like (but probably not) - light sweetness - finishes extremely clean
Mouthfeel: Medium body, low carbonation, very smooth, almost creamy, superbly clean
Overall: Mmmm... crop...
At first I thought this was overly mild, but this beer grew on me. It's not the best beer from Jack's Abby, but that is far from an insult. This is a great pumpkin beer.
