Notes/Commercial Description:
The 2012 harvest on our Mom & Pop’s farm was fruitful and this brew uses 100 fresh pumpkins and 40 organic squash. We prepared, cooked, and pureed all the gourds with the help of our friends at Carrie Anne’s Modern Diner. A blend of autumn spices adds to the intense pumpkin flavors. Uses locally grown Triticale from MA.

Modest head that settles down to rim bubbles and fine layer on the center of the glass. No lace, save for one space. Deep copper color, near brown. Light chill haze.

The smell is a blend of cinnamon, brown sugar and cooked pumpkin. There's a bit of alcohol and malt sugar. No notable hop.

This is a rich beer with strong malt overtones. Probably comes closest to a Scotch Ale. Not too sweet, but the malt is the dominant flavor here. Pumpkin is decently present but not overwhelming. I would consider this one of the better pumpkin offerings.

Bottle from Resdstone.
Pours a crystal clear orange amber color with a decent sized off white head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aromas mostly of nutmeg and cinnamon with a little bit of brown sugar. The flavor is sweet with a bready brown sugary maltiness. Cinnamon and nutmeg provide the only counter to the sweetness and the malt is winning. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a sweet spiced mouthfeel. Decent enough pumpkin beer, I couldn't drink much of this, but its better than most.

Dated October 2012, might be a bit old at this point (6 months).

A: Pours a hazy orange with an enormously frothy tan head. Fades at a moderate pace. Zero lacing. Decent head retention.

S: Nice mild pumpkin and pumpkin spices. Cinnamon and nutmeg mainly. Decent sweetness to it, brown sugar maybe? Maybe caramel?

T: Mild, mellow flavor. Decent pumpkin. Spices aren't overpowering like most pumpkin ales (lager in this case). Again with the nutmeg, just a little bit of cinnamon. Some caramel and brown sugar.

M: Fairly light bodied but not nearly watery. Smooth.

O: Hmph, a nice pumpkin beer. I was expecting it to be very thin due to only 5.5% ABV but it's nice and smooth and borderline creamy even. Very mellow and easy drinking. Reminds me a lot of CBC's The Great Pumpkin, not huge lot a lot of them out there (Pumking), just an easy drinking and well balanced brew.
