1 pint .9oz. bottle poured into a larger version of the Sam Adams Perfect Pint Glass. The beer itself comes out a nice golden straw color with some slight haze to it, overall there is a little bit of clarity. Glows golden yellow when held up to the light. Large white colored head with a lot of small white bubbles.
Smell is awesome, nice and super hoppy without being overwhelming. Huge notes of citrus, primarily grapefruit but tangerine and lemon as well, with hints of pine and tropical fruits as well (mango/pine apple). Great sweet malt backbone that seems absolutely perfectly balanced.
Taste, much like the smell is spot on. Nice and hoppy again. Same tropical fruits as mentioned earlier come out here as well, maybe a little more citrus than the smell. There's some honey/nectar sweetness to balance out the bitterness. The flavors all really mesh together quite well, really just about as perfect as it can get.
Mouthfeel is perfect. Overall quite medium bodied with a nice carbonation level. Perfectly balanced so it's perfectly drinkable, bitterness to sweetness factor is perfect. Great sharp and dry bitter and not to mention clean finish. It's awesome, I'm a little dissapointed that this isn't a year round brew, I love this beer.
Edit: This beer should REALLY be consumed fresh. I was able to pick up a couple more bottles at a store that had an a lot left over (I figured why not). The beer had several months of age and while it was still very tasty, it had lost greatness in all categories except appearance.

I think this is a genius brew. its a german style pilsener lager, with a great dose of American hops. a beautiful fusion of styles. clear on the pour until the sediment layer is disturbed and it runs a little hazy. golden in color with a really active white head a few inches high and lacing up well. the nose is dusty german malts on the light side, and aggressive fruity fresh American hops plenty high in alpha acids. clean flavor too, with a floral side of the hops emerging, fresh and springy, a nice contrast to the fuller malt body for the style. jacks abby has effective redefined the American lager, and this might be their best beer to date. so much flavor, soft feel, and snappy hops with lager yeast, a great combo. everything they make is good, this one is fabulous.
