Enjoying this one after a couple weeks in the fridge. Poured into a goblet.
Nice colors to the pour. The body is deep brown with a touch of red; almost mahogany. The head is very nice upon pouring- chocolate brown and fluffy. It disappears quickly to a thin, nicely laced film.
You can clearly pick up the base brew in the flavor. Mild, nicely roasted flavor. The barrel adds a bit of depth of flavor, but I don't sense any wood or booze from it. Vanilla is a nice addition here- adds just a bit of sweetness and smoothness.
Great mouthfeel. Smooth and sweet finish.
I really love this brew. It can stand toe to toe with any of the big boy porters or stouts.
