Had on tap at Sunset Grill in Allston.

Pours a very hazy honey gold. Nice creamy head that left some thick lacing. Had a nice aroma of belgian yeast, fruits and spices, very enticing.

Great flavor, can really taste the flavors of the peppercorns, cardamom, along with a great balance of noble hops and english malts some funky yeast esters too. Complex but not overwhelming.

Easily quaffable and can easily be sessioned. Body was creamy and full with medium to high carbonation.

A very good beer that can stand alone or be paired well with a meal without overwhelming. Highly recommenced. (592 characters)

Drank from a growler purchased at the brewery. Light, straw like golden color with a haze to it. Aroma is subdued, a little pepper and a faint touch of citrus are noticed. Oddly, it tastes very sessionable, which is nice for summer, but the problem is that it's 6% ABV, so I wish I was getting a touch more flavor for the amount of alcohol. It creeps on you since the beer is easy to throw back given its drinkability and light body. The flavor got addictive as I got half way through a glass. This is brewed with cardamom, lemon peel, and pink peppercorns...you can taste all 3 but it's all a little faint.

An enjoyable beer but, given its flavor and body, I wish it was lower in alcohol. I was eager to try this since I love their other Biere de Garde, "Private Rye". This one is pretty nice overall, but has its drawbacks. (827 characters)
