Huge thanks to beersndrums for this one!
500 mL bottle poured into a tall pint glass at cellar temperature.
L – Hazy straw color with a nice 2-finger bubbly, rocky, white head. Really nice retention and some great patchy lacing. There’s a nice, noticeable amount of bubbles despite the haze.
S – Smells very much like a Berliner weissbier. Tart lactic acid, lemons, and grapes, musty and funky Brett, and faint grainy wheat aromas are present.
T – It starts off with a mixture of sweet grainy wheat and sour grapes, apples, and lemons. As both of these flavors are fighting for the forefront, funky and earthy Brett wraps both of them in a blanket of funk. All of these flavors blend so well together and create a truly delicious beer.
F – Light-bodied, great carbonation, a crisp, tart, and effervescent mouthfeel, and a tart, earthy, musty, and very dry finish. Lactic tartness lingers for a bit along with some earthy, musty, dry, and funky Brett flavors.
O – This is a really nice beer. I don’t know who stuck the Bière de Garde label on here because I’m pretty sure it’s dead wrong. First of all, it’s not an ale. Secondly, it doesn’t taste anything like that style. If anything, it tastes like a Berliner weissbier. Complaining about things that have nothing to do with this beer aside, this is a beautifully crafted tart lager. The aroma and taste are wonderful, and the mouthfeel is perfectly crisp and refreshing. Very, very drinkable. Jack’s Abby never disappoints. Thank you so much for letting me try this, Jared!

A- golden hue transparent with medium lacing around the glass. Bubble fizz up from bottom of glass.
S- Lemon zest, funk, citrus, bit of brett.
T- Tastes like Sanctification with a little more lemon.
M- Pretty thin, as expected. Carbonation follows down the throat.
O- This was my first Berliner Weiss; odd because I have traded away a few in that past few months. Again, tastes like sanctification with a bit more lemon and less carbonation. Thanks Mike!!
