An aggressive pour skill only yields a small bubbly head covering that fades pretty quickly, over a crystal clear tan apple juice colored beer.

Nose has a nice Czech pilsner aroma, like very similar to a good Czech pilsner, light toasty straw, bit grainy and even a hint of hay, little crackery pilsner, then into nice grassy hop, touch earthy but mostly just grassy like a nice noble hop, as well as a nice crisp slightly fruity lager touch.

Taste is quite malty, a nice toasty pilsner malt, lots of cracked straw and grassy malt characters, and even dried hay, bit grainy and crackery, with a touch of sweetness. Hops are fairly dominant too, a nice big grassy hop character, fair bitterness, just a hint of earthy too, some mild sulfur on the back end. Decent fruity lager character, fairly crisp and clean. Finish is dry and clean, crisp, nice lager characters lingering, bit more grassy hops and light straw pilsner malt.

Mouth is med to lighter bod, carbonation is a bit lighter than it should be though.

Overall pretty nice, a good take on a Czech pilsner, a nice straw toasty pilsner malt, decent grassy hop, very Czech level of bitterness that I remember from my trip there a couple months ago, tasty and drinkable, great lager characters and nice and crisp, but a little under carbonated and that hint of sulfur in there.

Clear gold with a thin white cap of fine bubbles. Good head retention (constant stream giving it support), some lacing. Balanced aroma, malty, bready and caramel with grassy and floral hops. Easy drinking too, with moderate bitterness that was more pronounced in the slightly fruity, spicy finish alongside grassy notes, mild malt sweetness. Great texture, creamy and medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very good.

Poured into pokal

A: Pours a straw, golden-yellow with a creamy white 2 finger head.

S: Grassy, earthy, with a ton of grain and fresh bread aromas with hints of sweet, honey, malty notes

T: Clean pilsner malt with delicious noble hops giving flavors of light spice, earthiness and grass, especially in the finish.

M: Soapy, yet clean. High carbonation that tingles.

O: An excellent American made Czech pilsner, which is too rare these days. Simple at first, yet subtle in its complexity; this is for refined palates. A must try for Czech beer lovers here in the states.

Bottle from Colonial Spirits.
Pours a slightly hazy medium golden color with a smallish bubbly bone white head that quickly dissipate to a cap on top. Aromas of spicy hops and rich bready lightly toasted pilsner malt make up the aroma. Clean rich lightly sweet bready toasty malt offset with spicy earthy hops. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a lightly sweet slick bubbly mouthfeel. Really nice Bo Pils here. Clean, simple, flavorful. Come to NH already!

A: Clear, yellow with a fizzy white head. Typical for the style and not much to note here. No lacing or retention.

S: Great hop presence. Light enough to showcase the yeast and usual nose for the style.

T: So refreshing and crisp. Hops really contribute to a nice finish. Floral, slightly fruity, and a bit earthy. I would gladly have another bottle, which is rarely the case with a Pilsner for me.

M: Drinks so well. Clear, clean, crisp. Tasty and never bland or dry as I find some Pilsners to be after a while.

O: A very good version of the style. Tough to find a Czech Pils of this quality on this side of the pond. Nothing too remarkable but a good twist on the style with a bit more hops than usual. Recommended!

Appearance: Very slight chill haze on an otherwise clear dark gold color. Lively carbonation. Small, bubbly, bright-white head with solid retention. Some sticky splotches of lacing.

Smell: Lightly floral hops up front. Pushes some decent earthy notes as well. Malts are nice and light. A crackery snap layered over a mildly toasted bready malt backbone. Incredibly clean and easy. A bit of pale malt sweetness with some vague apple skin. Warming ups the bready sweetness a touch. Some grass and hay.

Taste: Hyper clean. Malts run lightly bready with some underlying pale malt sweetness. Lightly toasted with some floral hop elements. Earthy and slightly dirty with some bread crust and cracker. Warming smooths everything out a bit. A touch of biscuit dough thrown in the mix. Lager yeast is mostly clean with a vague hint of apple thrown in the mix.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with a moderate carbonation. Relatively clean with slight lingering earthiness. Smooth and a touch creamy.

Overall: An effort worth working for.

Jack's Abby wins American lagers.
