Beautiful golden color Slightly cloudy, as unfiltered. Huge head when poured; with head that lasted the entire time I was drinking the beer. Not much of a smell. Delicious taste; perfect amount of hops, bitterness and nice light carbonation. Nice body - not too heavy and not thin. Great drinking beer. Would be great with a light meal, pizza or Italian.

a. Head for days. 3+ finger head that lasted and lasted. Looked like marshmallow fluff after a few sips. Thick patches of lacing last from the top of the glass down to the bottom.

s. Not much of an aroma. Hops, pine. Nothing distinctive.

t. Smooth. Controlled bitterness. Pine, grapefruit, hops. Bitter finish is just right.

m. Carbonated beautifully. You can see carbonation being released well into the last quarter of the beer. Head is still there as well. Still one finger.

o. Excellent beer from an excellent brewery.

Pour is hazed golden yellow with a tight white head. Nose has a light touch of grain and an appealing citrus and grapefruit hop balance. Taste is similar, very nicely done. Light grain and a hint of earthy malt. Hops aren't overly strong but take center state, soft grapefruit with notes of sweet orange rind. Body is light and very well carbonated with a softer feel through the finish. Not super bright but good stuff!

Pours straw colored, hazy with a tight wad of foam that quickly rises to peek out of the glass at 3 fingers. Retention is quite amazing as is the lacing that creates plentiful pattern on the glass.

Cracker-like pilsner malt, grain husks and doughy lager yeast. Hops are bright and airy, dried grasses, citrus grove and floral lemony herbs.

Clean, white bread and crackers lifts from the palate as soon as the hops hit. Fresh cut herbs, hay and lemon zest, very bright and spicy near the finish. Medium bitterness provides a cleansing across the palate. Well hidden alcohol and lingering straw and lemon, gets a bit acidic and refreshing as well.

Medium bodied, tight carbonation keeps the brightness of this brew. Pretty clean and drying, remarkable how the high alcohol is kept hidden.

Quality lager and one of the mainstays when one thinks of an 'IPL'. First venture into Jack's Abbey and I hope not the last
