First time here, traveled from NJ (was visiting family) and decided to do lunch. We had 2 flights, both of which were very good, as well as shraed a pizza and wings. Food was on par with most pub fare that I've had in Jersey. We had heavy rains, so we could not enjoy the outside however, the beer hall was comfortable and, although quite crowded for a Saturday afternoon, was not overly loud. Staff was very friendly.

I would make a return trip when in the area. . .

Friendly staff and now with the pilot brew line a great selection of regular varieties plus a bunch of brew hall only beers. I haven't tried too much of the food but the pizza is good. Seating is much better now that they've added small tables.

This is out in a sprawled exurb, area. Big and nondescript manufacturing type of building. Big and basic, pseudo industrial type atmosphere. Many taps of mainly German and Czech types of beers, which is very welcome in hoppy IPA country, for a change of pace and even refuge from the murky, very hoppy brews! The pizza I had was really good, with a thin crust and is similar to the Pagliacci pizza, we have here in Seattle. Out of the 4 beers tasted, the Post Shift Pilsner & Hoponius Union hoppy lager, were the standouts, and were quite good.

Love this place! It's got a great feel to it, good mix of old school German style beer hall with a new age New England Brewery. They have a great selection of their drafts along with a good number of offerings from their co-joined sister Springdale next door. Had the Munich Oktoberfest and the Shipping Out of Boston and they were both excellent! The food selection is great and they do a phenomenal job with allergies, etc. The new order at your table is a great way to do it, loved the pay at your table as well. The schnitzel was excellent, so are their appetizers (anything with their beer mustard is awesome). The vibe is great, laid back yet full of energy. The quality is top notch, love this place!

Beer selection is decent, even though they are all lagers. Not a big food selection though.

The pizza was great. The beers chosen in a sampler were all good, not a perfect group to my tastes just bad luck on what was on tap. If this were local for me I am sure I would have some favorites. A great lunch and then at least I also went to Trillium for some more beer.

Solid place between Trillium and Treehouse. I personally wasn't a huge fan of the beers, but the space was large and even had lots of people at lunchtime. Would recommend either way.

Great eating and drinking experience all around. Beer hall style (lots of group seating where you are likely to interact with people next to you). Good for families, getting together with friends, quick bite or casual business meals. Always 20+ beers on tap from JA and Springdale (barrel-aged), available in flights, half pours and pints. Service is fast and friendly. Food is creative and delicious, with something on the menu for everyone.

This brewery/restaurant is a favorite meeting spot for my friends and I. It is almost always packed to the brim with people sampling the beers, and gets pretty loud -- not a problem for me. They are excellent when it comes to offering new and even experimental beers on tap. I've been there at least five times, and never repeated a beer on a flight. The food is surprisingly decent, with the prosciutto and basil brick oven pizza a solid option. Slowish service, mainly due to the large crowds.

On a Saturday afternoon, this is a hopping place. Nice blend of families, twenty-somethings, and old folks like me. There are 24 taps and nearly 80% of them are lagers, the commitment of Jack's Abby. The five ales are from the brewery next door, Springdale. Since lagers require a long storage commitment (3x ales), the prices are extremely reasonable!

While I didn't try the food, it looked decent enough with an emphasis on the typical bar expectations.

The service at the bar was harried and chaotic, but other than the five-minute wait when I first arrived, it was efficient enough to keep me with a beer throughout my stay.

The quality of the beers is top notch. Even though the vast majority of them are lagers, the range is from light to dark and malty to hoppy, making it easy to find a beer that suits one's palate. Definitely worth a drive or detour from your path if you are in eastern Massachusetts.

The food is great (especially the pizza) and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed to find that Jack has decided to focus in on the lager style of beer. Although the India Pale Lager is somewhat bitter/hoppy the vast majority of offerings feel like reworkings of the same recipe (so to speak). If you like easy drinking lagers then you'll have a good time but for true beer lovers who appreciate variety the long list of lagers will leave you wanting more.

Was on a trip to Boston and decided to stop by Jack's Abby Brewing in Framingham. I had really enjoyed the Framinghammer Baltic Porter (and derivatives) and thought it would be fun. It is a short hike from Boston, maybe 30 to 40 minutes by car depending on the time of day. Note, Framingham is famous for the Framingham Heart Study, which was instrumental in developing the contemporary medical approach to the treatment of coronary artery disease and other heart problems.

One enters at a decent sized, retail area, with cooler cabinets of canned and bottles beers, as well as souvenirs, but the serving floor is a much larger open, Brauhaus style space with a variety of different seating arrangements. In addition to bar height common seating areas, there were quite a number of more booth style, semi-private spaces. I went on a Tuesday night and had no difficulty getting seating (although there were lots of people there).

The menu had a nice selection of food, not the usual "pub grub." The other breweries I have visited did not actually serve food. I ordered the Bratwurst, which came with sauerkraut and spaetzl (which was all excellent). I focused on beer offerings exclusive to the serving area and enjoyed two of the three. Full disclosure, my server was pretty disinterested: when I asked what was exclusive to the site, he pointed to something that was not, in fact, but will acknowledge he seemed a bit harried.

Overall, it was a great experience and, frankly, I wish there were one such closer to my home. If you are in the area, do consider a visit.
