Wow. I found a gem of a beer today.

Pours brown in color. Hazy, thick and cream like. Moderate carbonation. Slight tan colored head.

Nose is very much where all the love starts. A nice mix of butter scotch, vanilla, toffee and caramel flavor. Malty, sweet and reminding me of ice cream. No alcohol is felt. Roasted malts.Slight chocolate.

Taste: Very much like nose. Awesome creamy, toffee, butter scotch, vanilla and caramel flavors. Very complex and delicious at the same time. Toasted malts are apparent. Alcohol warmth is felt, but never hurts.

Mouth feel :Medium to somewhat thick feel. Creamy, smooth and drinks very easy.

Highly recommended stuff from this upcoming brewery.

Medium brown in color with a cream colored head.

Walnuts, cocoa, fig, nutmeg, vanilla, oatmeal, raisins, brown sugar and molasses.

Roasted malt, cocoa, hazelnuts, fudge, citrus.

Medium-full bodied on the palate with a rich creamy texture. Slight alcohol warmth is nicely balanced.

Really enjoyable beer.

Microbrewer in Avion, Indiana let's give it a go!!! Pours almost blood orange crimson brown, definite ruby highlights when held toward the light. Aroma has some dirty malt, just a touch of Wheaties mixed with hints of cardboard box, added to that is some cooling fresh baked browines. A slight underlying dark plum juiciness exceeds out of the complexity of this 8% Scottish Ale. Heavy cereal grains, layered dark chocolate, quite a messy malt driven complexity with more wet cardboard and uneven lost in translation carbonation carrying it across the palate. A very rough abrasive beer, I hate to say that but that's what I'm getting thus far. It goes from smooth roasty to acrid acidic with a linger wet cardboard off putting note that I can't erase from my memory. Overall the harsh mouthfeel weak carbonation isn't expressive of the whole picture, there's a good beer somewhere here, preserve what you have and get through the rough patches of starting a brewery in 2010 not the best beer yet, but there's potential in the glass.

Pours a cloudy amber with little head. What head is there is an eggshell or ecru. Aroma of popcorn is here with a sugary sweetness. The nice hop bitterness balances the sweetness appropriately. Tasty but not worthy going out of the way for. Overall, a good beer, but if looking for a good example of the style, there are better options.

12 oz. bottle, with no apparent bottled on date present. My second beer from Cutters Brewing Co., acquired as part of a mixed six pack at the local Binny's.

Poured into a clear balloon snifter.

A - Pours a thick amber-caramel colored body; reddish-mahogany in the glass with about a finger of khaki head that goes down quick. Some spotty lacing. Looks okay.

S - Hm, the smell is a bit strange, and not entirely enticing. Almost a sour / acidic green apple sort of aroma comes out. Caramel malt and dark vinous fruits are noted. Vinous and vinegary smelling at times.

T - Taste follows the nose - bready caramel malt, some acidic / tart green apple, dark fruits - raisin, fig, dates. Earthy, herbal tea-leaf presence is noted.

M - Feel is smooth and creamy. Lightly thick and syrupy. Medium-full bodied with low carb.

Overall, it's okay, but definitely nothing special. I suppose it grew on me the more I drank it, but it's really a below-average example of the style. Worth a try though, and I look forward to trying more from these guys.

A-Clear deep amber, almost brown, one finger off white head.

S-Very malty, caramel, molasses, some peat, dirt and grass.

T-Starts with malt, caramel, toffee, tad vanilla, rather sweet. Peat as well. Ends with slight bitterness with grass and earthy pine notes.

M-Light to medium bodied, not much carbonation, tad watery.

O-Easily the best Cutters beer I've had so far. A nicely put together scotch ale.

12oz bottle poured into a pint glass

A: clear dark amber with a one inch off white head that slowly dissipates leaving a nice amount of lacing.

S: Caramel and something fruity maybe raisin. Also a bit leathery.

T: Roasted malts, caramel and vanilla.

M: Oily texture and litte carbonation.

O: I'm usually not big on scottish style ales but this one has me rethinking those feelings. Its a solid brew, more balanced than I'm used to finding in this style. Its not at the very top of my list but really quite a nice combination of flavors and very drinkable.

New to Indianapolis in the past couple weeks.

Floyd's Folly pours a medium bodied raisin brown in color with a light, off white lacing around the glass. The nose consists of light chocolate, crystal esque malt, raisin, and light toffee. It is smooth and well balanced. There isn't the slightest trace of the 8% in the nose either. The flavors too, smooth and on par for the style. There is a good amount of chocolate aspect upfront followed by sweet toffee, caramel, raisin, and light nutty under tones. It drinks medium in body with a nice, resonating aftertaste. Overall this is a really nice representation of the style. The wife enjoyed it to.

It's really comparable to Founders Dirty Bastard.

My first review. And my first Scottish Ale!

Poured into a Guinness Pint glass. It is amber brown in color. Small, tan colored head. Moderate carbonation.

Nose is a caramel and toffee flavor. The taste is in line with the nose. Lots of caramel and and toffee flavors. Very sweet and tasty. Alcohol is very present, but not overpowering. The mouth feel is medium, increasing in body as the beer warms. There is an amazing sweet aftertaste that lingers long after the beverage has been consumed.

I am very impressed with this beer, my first foray into Scottish Ales. It is very different from my recent experiences, mainly with IPA's (far sweeter and less citrus tasting). I look forward to having this beer again and will definitely be exploring this style further.
